the album is still coming but just at a later date! she said this on instagram: i am not happy to say that i must postpone my new record FROSTBITE II 🌚 my plan was for the record to release on the tenth anniversary of the original Frostbite EP, which would have been satisfying. i spent all summer working on her and everything was on track, but in the past month or so things have been diverted by many positive opportunities- not only for myself, but for the pom-poms and teen suicide as well!! i had planned on pushing myself HARD to try and make my own deadline, but now that i’m on tour i am realizing i need to trust my intuition and enact the most important lesson i’ve learned as an independent artist: burnout is real and will never beget quality. while it is disappointing to change the plan after presenting it to you guys, i can promise the underlying circumstances are pure magic and the music will benefit greatly from the delay. i don’t want to give a new release date yet, but i can guarantee the record will be released before the end of this winter- before the frost melts. this is not a fun post but i hope you all understand…delaying a record isn’t the end of the world, but i hate to let anyone down, so please know id never do this if it wasn’t for the absolute best. i love you all so much and i am SO grateful for the excitement you’ve shared with me for this music that means so so so so much to me. all my blessings, ☁️🩵kitty🩵 ☁️

You can appreciate her art but she still deserves all of the criticism. Just because you think one artist is more problematic than Liz, it still doesn’t make her much of a better person

The discourse surrounding this album has been so upsetting… like, everyone is entitled to dislike the music, but I don’t see why people feel the need to attack the people overseeing this album’s release. I can’t even imagine how Sophie’s brother must have felt while finishing the album she left behind… genuinely the last thing people should be doing is questioning his intentions

also jimmy edgar said on his story “what happens next may surprise you” with a screenshot of the article where they talk about burn rubber

!!! https://www.papermag.com/sophie-album-ben-long#rebelltitem6 And what’s next for you, outside of SOPHIE? I need to take a break for a few weeks, I’ve been working on this for so long. Up until we lost SOPHIE, I’d been beginning to work more on my own productions — my production was always much more technical, engineering and such — and it was really SOPHIE who gave me the encouragement and pushed me to do my own stuff. In my head, SOPHIE had been doing it for so long, and SOPHIE was incredible. So I was always nervous. I had been doing it more and more, and then it massively took a back seat the last year, because really this had to be my main focus. I’ve been learning a lot. The last few weeks I’ve been opening up some new sessions and doing things. And then, there’s many more SOPHIE songs that, like I said, need to be discussed in their own time. Some that include people who are on the album, some who are not, people have been asking the last few years, “When can we do this?” So I have a list of priorities, and a lot of them at that. I played a few unreleased bits at the friends and family party, and people were really excited to hear that stuff again. There is a lot.

I think so! Kinda reminds me of how she opened this set:
