    Official Charts has released their best selling cassettes of 2019 list, and Lana Del Rey's 'Norman Fucking Rockwell' came in at the 3rd best selling cassette in the UK.

    Over 80,000 cassettes were sold in 2019, the largest amount in the past 15 years.

    Among the 80,000 sold, Lana Del Rey's 'Norman Fucking Rockwell' was the 3rd best sold cassette of last year with nearly 4,000 copies sold.

    The top best selling cassette was Robbie William's 'The Christmas Present' followed by Billie Eilish's 'When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?'

    Could all of the songs on Honeymoon be directed to the Lizzy persona in a way? I was looking at the lyrics for Terrence loves you and it seemed to fit perfectly. There are a couple of songs (honeymoon, mtwbt, maybe religion, 24) that don't seem to fit as well but taking a loose interpretation of some of the songs, they seem to fit the mismatch between Lizzy/Lana that doesn't seem as prominent now. Ultraviolence is more of an exploration of the darker parts of the LDR persona that get romanticized in born to die, whereas Honeymoon feels more and more like an apology to Lizzy for leaving her behind, and a marrying of the two parts of her so she could move onto who we've seen since in LFL and NFR. I'm going to spoiler out the Lizzy-directed interpretations of each song because I'm aware this could be kind of boring lmao.

    Not surprised honestly. I feel like Lana was always really well received by French media. Maybe because she has made such a big aesthetic and sonic change, they fell out of love. America is so obsessed with originality over everything, where as I think in most European countries appreciate authenticity. I think doing what’s authentic is not always the most original thing. (I’m talking out my ass though.....)
