I'm really disappointed, I'm not gonna lie. I can't understand how there are people defending her, I've always defended her even when she hasn't been right or has said stupid things, but this is the first time I feel I can't defend her, it's like I see her differently now and  I don't like it. 
 
She's white, rich, and she've already screwed up many times talking about politics and social topics because she never wants to get too much involved, but last week she had time to be talking about the same thing four days in a row, even tho I think people twisted her words, she talked in a victimizing like tone. She tried to make clear 453935 times that she's not racist, but now she's not capable of talking about such an important topic? I'm 99% sure she doesn't want to talk because she's afraid of being dragged again, but if you're not a racist, then post something and don't give a damn about what people says, bc the fact that she cares more about being criticized than giving voice to a topic like this just shows what i always thoght, that even she's a good person and she doesn't have bad intentions, she doesn't recognize her privilege and that's the main problem with her, she lives in her own bubble and doesn't care about anything that doesn't affect her. Plus, if you' been dating a tv cop that was even accused of being racist and now, after a week justifying yourself and stating non stop that you're not racist, you stay silent, you can't expect people to think that you care about BLM. As i said i don't think she's racist or have any bad intentions but that's not always enough, she has +16m followers, she could easily post a link and it would help, but i guess she's more worried about people dragging her again as if staying silent is not worst, and enough for people to trash her... a mess tbh, i really hope she speaks up and if she doesn't i'm not gonna stop supporting her because she means so much to me but i feel like i'm seeing a side of her that i don't like at all.

I don't remember UV the song being particularly controversial outside of Twitter but yeah that guardian interview was a complete mess.

I don't know, and of course I can't assume anything, but I guess she must be feeling really down for everything that happened and that's happening.

I'm talking about after the video. We don't know what went down. As I said, her being incapacitated in some way would be the only acceptable excuse. I like to consider all possibilities, which is why I have so many crackheaded takes, and it is a possibility that someone took all her shit away, or she's medicated, or some other shit.

If I endured thousands of vitriolic comments, my phone number being leaked, friends turning against me, and fuck knows what else, I don't know that I'd be in a great state of mind. Again, I'm not saying that some of the backlash wasn't deserved, because I definitely think her comments were problematic af. Regardless, the aftermath must've been pretty awful for her.

Like she literally changed the MAC lyrics in her last tour to "I'm fucked up, I know that, but JESUS" and then she devotes time to fighting a bunch of fans in a private IG convo because she's so offended that they wondered if she's having a midlife crisis?

And yes, now that Chuck and Charlie have posted, the silence is deafening. The only acceptable reason for the silence I can come up with is that she really isn't in a good place right now and is somehow incapacitated and incapable of commenting (be it because she's had her phone taken away by a friend/family member, she's medicated, or fuck knows what)

I love that after reading people’s thoughts for a couple days (on multiple platforms) there is no obvious dud in the tracklist. It is all very individual and we all have very different favorites and least favorites. It’s crazy to me. Never seen anything like it. Babylon is probably my least favorite for example, but I know it’s some people’s top of the top lol. Love that.
 
Also- I think Gaga can really do with this era what she wasn’t able to with ARTPOP or Joanne and make this album cycle so fun and exciting for many months to come. Those others in a way looking back (while I love them) felt dead on impact bc of lack of promo, energy, direction, or whatever the circumstances may be. I fell like this is just the very very beginning of what we get to see for Chromatica and I hope we get more merch, visuals, songs, demos, remixes, videos, etc.

Out of all of her albums to me the UV box set and cover and vinyl packaging etc will always be my favorite the imagery in the booklet and such too honestly the whole black and white aesthetic with sudden pops of color like the teal/purple hydrangeas etc...f it was just everything to me... HM would definitely come in second tho for me (I have the standard red vinyl & UO cover) that UO cover although <3 freakin gorgeous 
 
 
edit— just read the bottom part about the merch... lmao we will NEVER see as quality merch as the first few years... I only have the “LDR” lighter and gold snake American tour 2014 shirt and the lighters super fucked and scratched now as well as the shirt being faded as fuck from wearing it too much, I wanted the lyric book SO badly tho

Plastic Doll’s chorus is EVERYTHING tho... I literally have gone around my house shouting “DONT PLAY WITH MEEEEEEEE” since Thursday tbh

It's funny tho bc even that HM and LFL are so lazy as boxsets, the HM vinyl is probably the most good looking of all Lana vinyls.
The cover looks really pretty in vinyl size + we got those amazing sleeves (and one of them is the picture from the UO exclusive artwork) and the full booklet in vinyl size.
 
But I still hope she'll serve us with a boxset in the size of BTD or UV ones. And PLEASE some nice merch as the coke necklace, lighter, fuel can, lyric book and tour book.

Honestly as time passes I really think this is gonna be tied as my favorite album with born this way and Artpop coming in a very close 3rd behind them

I honestly feel like this is what marinara thought she was serving us with Love + Fear tho but Gaga just does the simplicity in such a more quality and gripping way

I just hope we get a boxset this time.
We got one for each album (I only own the LFL one) and then she slapped us in the face by not releasing one for NFR.

I really don't think we need a track titled "Chemtrails over the Country Club." À la Paradise - EP, I think it would be more powerful as perhaps just a lyric or an overall image

When the album first came out I really vibed w No More Suckers just cause of the attitude and sass in the lyrical content but over time it aged so badly and just sounds tacky kinda idk it’s still a “good enough” track to go back and listen to every now and then

i think it's too late for lana to say anything now but i didn't even expect her to say anything in the first place she literally dated a cop the entire BLM movement is anti-police, i can still appreciate lana's artistry but she is the epitome of privileged white people that leech off poc culture but then when it comes to advocating for them she doesn't want to say shit, i mean she was literally born into wealth and CHOSE to be trailer park trash come on now.. and it doesn't matter if she fears getting backlash or worries about people calling her a cop fucker cause it's the truth and her fear for her public image which she clearly doesn't have anymore will never be equivalent to the fear black people face everyday
 
i do wish lana said something cause she's someone i've admired for a long time but i'm not even surprised in the slightest.. she has never said or done anything for any movement in her entire life/career which is quite sad considering a big part of the image and aesthetic she's built is based around hispanic culture and 90% of her fanbase is lgbt but whatever 

honestly my view of lana is really changed by this entire situation. ill always appreciate her as an artist and for all the amazing things she’s produced... but as a person i have just become incredibly disappointed with her ignorance specifically in regard to her letter and her responses to it and instead of recognizing her name dropping artists for no good reason was the issue (well that and the shitty way it was written) as if those artists have never faced any criticism themselves, she does it AGAIN with twigs instead of apologizing and recognizing her mistake. i understand her anger that her words were twisted but her defensiveness as if she did nothing wrong comes off terribly.
 
also she can post about asking her fans to support the Hollywood Bowl but can’t use the same platform to spread awareness about the current situation regarding George Floyd and the issue of racism in america? yikes...
