If she did that shemd have to make a double mv with Freak and Art Deco, it's blasphemous to break the two up

Wasn't Ultraviolence a big disappointment initially for a lot of people who were hoping she would put out an album that sounded like BTD? It seems like Huntymoon disappointed people who wanted another UV type of album. UV is now praised by almost everyone, and I bet the same thing will happen to Honeymoon over time.

    What strikes me is that:
    1. she had a lot of boyfriends (actually not that surprising since she's a beautiful girl) and
    2. So many of them were important enough for her to write several songs about them.

There are people who put their career, friends or family first, Lana def is the kind of person that puts her relationship first (This Is What Makes Us Girls). When she's into a relationship she's in at 100% and forget about all the rest. it must be hard for her actual bf to inconsciously compete w/ the others who had such an impact on her life. Damn, if her songwritting was cheesier/less mature and inspired/and country she'll be like Taylor Swift.

Welcome to LANALYSIS, where we get real unhealthy in our obsessions and absolutely revel in it.

This is a project I've been maintaining for a while now--Lana + Analysis...get it? The basic purpose is to relate every one of her songs (that's right, every last one of them) to her known and assumed relationships. Not a stone is left unturned. Privacy is violated. The fans rejoice. Mind you, it’s all pure speculation, but ~this is what makes us stans~

It’s pretty long but an interesting read, if I do say so myself. I hope you enjoy it in all it’s updated glory, and I will continue to update as new information is revealed and new songs come out. I will also be adding pictures, sources, etc. Stay tuned!

    Let’s get started!

    EARLY RELATIONSHIPS (1985 - ~2005)

    LOCAL ROCKSTARS (~2005 - 2009)

YOU MADE ME NICE FOR A WHILE (2009 - 2011)

    POST-BREAKTHROUGH (2011+)

    IN THE LAND OF DISCREPANCIES

    ADVANCED LANALYSIS

    IN SUMMARY..

    Lingering questions…
    - Who the fuck is K?
    - Who the fuck is Ray?
    - Who the fuck is Bill? Is Bill really K? Does Bill matter at all?
    - What significance do cars play? She mentions eight in total (white Corvette, white Pontiac, blue Chevy Nova/Chevrolet, Cadillac convertible, Mercedes, pickup truck, Lamborghini, Bugatti Veyron)
    - When was she/who was she with in New York City and New Jersey? Ditto LA? Most mysterious and pressing, her time in the South?
    - Did she have a fling with Bradley Soileau?
    - Did Chris C. matter enough to her for her to write songs about him?

    Assumptions Made:
    - Lana was a gogo dancer.
    - K is a drug dealer/murderer, dead or on death row.
    - Jimmy is her ex-fiancé, addicted to cocaine despite a Wikipedia page stressing how healthy he is, associated with Chevrolets.
    - Much of Sirens is about completely different relationships.
    - She fucked Bradley.
    - Mike controlled her career but their relationship wasn’t associated with anything fucked up like drugs or stripping.

Thanks for reading! I crave both your feedback and theories! This remains a forum collaboration and I don't claim to have the final say on Lanalytical manners.

For the sake of believability, I'm always hunting receipts, and currently:
    - The interview where she refers to "Yayo" as the prequel to "Video Games"
    - The interview where she describes "Video Games" as dealing with mutual sobriety in a relationship--her and her partner both staying clean.
    - The interview where she talks about meeting her boyfriend in rehab and being dazzled by his small-scale celebrity.

The Blackest Day is most likely about Barry IMO.
His favorite color is black, etc. I honestly don't think she's so torn up about him in the long run, but when it was happening it might've been traumatic.

Yes, Granny Swift is 1000x times worse than Lorde in my opinion. In fact, I actually like Lorde and her music is good. I do still love the Lana/Lorde feud jokes though, they're hilarious. But anyway, Granny Swift is horrible in every way. At least Lorde was young when she made those comments about Lana, and she even recently linked to essays that basically confirm she takes back what she said before, so she's forgiven. But Granny Swift will never be forgiven for plagiarising Lana's lyrics, style, imagery, sound and melodies. I mean, it's a perpetual cycle of Granny Swift copying Lana. At least Lorde's music is original and thought-provoking to some extent, unlike Grannæ Swift who literally just copied and pasted everything Lana worked hard for and all of her songs are so redundant and pointless.

It IS a commercial failure. When Halsey is outselling her, when Melanie Martinez will outsell her in the US very soon and Lorde releases y'all will see what I am talking about.

Others are catching up while she falls back. She lost round 90% of her audience. That is the biggest drop of any female singer since she has debuted. If that is not alarming, then I don't know what else is. I mean, this is not just the sales climate. And nobody is expecting her to do BTD numbers, but with Honeymoon she hasn't even served the quality of UV. It is just a boring record that drags on forever with no focus or drive.
With her next album she can compete with Marina and her numbers. It's a shame and a waste of her potential.

1,5 years is not a long break. She should have palatable material. With Honeymoon she didn't have it.
  18. BeautifulAnywhere liked a post in a topic by leaked_version in Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
She should just move on honestly. Maybe a tour, but even if she doesn't go on tour, it doesn't matter.

What she needs is a rest, living her life and get some new inspiration, pick up the pace and come back with a strong single that can be played on the radio.

    So 2017 seems more reasonable.

i think you are reaching for the moon & the stars here, tbh. you really think that lana would make an entire album parodying stereotypes about herself? remember how critics thought that brooklyn baby was doing that & she was being serious?   (MPG is a different story buuut it's not on honeymoon either.)

it may be nice to think that the cliches/repetitiveness/slowness were done for some grand reason, but what sense would that make? nah, it's just what it is on the surface.

there are definitely critiques about fame, though.

I'm starting to believe that I've figured out Honeymoon, somewhat. I think (and I might wince at this theory later) that Honeymoon is Lana's critique of fame/the industry, and some of it is her making fun of herself/the stereotypes that surround her. I mean, maybe this is nothing new, but I'd like to put my two cents in.
I'll put my Lanalysis™ in the spoiler (warning, this is NOT polished, and is very speculative, very messy, but I need to get these thoughts out):

Anyway.... that was a hot mess, but I'd like to hear your thoughts. I'm going to refine this a lot more soon, hopefully, and I hope it isn't just a rehash of what someone else has come up with.

what might have been and what has been
point to lana, which is always present
