While I'm not the biggest fan of Honeymoon, or the Honeymoon era in general, I certainly wouldn't say Lana is declining.

It seems to be a natural phenomena in even the greatest artists' careers-- after a meteoric rise to fame, it's common for an artist to take some time to slow down. UV's release and heavy praise hasn't even been two years ago yet. Lana went from being a no-name singer with LDRAKALG in 2010 to a huge sensation in 2012 with BtD that continued into 2014 with UV.

In essence, she hasn't slowed down since 2010-- if not longer. She's produced three flawless albums in 6 years (AKA, BtD, UV), a host of amazing music videos, and such a wealth of incredible unreleased material.

I think we all forget that Lana's only been on the major music scene for such a short time, so isn't it understandable if she's producing some lighter fare? Yeah, HM and the HM videos may be a little insubstantial, (insubstantial, at least, in comparison to the past three albums/eras)  but I think that it isn't a permanent decline she's on.

She's taking an artistic breather. Give her space, give her time, and when she's ready, we'll get something great.

    Rick Rubin produced Ride
and Rick Rubin should give Ride to Merle Haggard to record (or perhaps Kristofferson)
Ride would have been perfect for Johnny Cash

She's not trying anymore, and it's relatively sad to see this attitude ingrained into her persona. The video felt so vapid, hollow, without proving any sort of cinematographic climax and whatnot we were expecting from an eleven minute video. Let's not bring into the equation the UV recycled footage that further solidifies my point, that's just preposterous and, I would have thought, rather inconceivable when she's used these elements before, as in I didn't expect them to make another appearance. Moreover, I'd say her live performances felt quite lackluster, she seemed so off whilst singing West Coast and VG, but that differs from each and everyone's viewpoint.

right now, she's nothing but a complacent little ho that feels as if she's already made her mark on the industry and thus isn't striving to push herself any further. she's better than the rest and she knows it, but now that everyone else is starting to recognize it too, she doesn't have any of that fire from before; nothing to prove and nothing new to currently say (and it shows, visually, in particular)

she went from piecing mood boards together in order to properly manifest her own self-realizations -- from constructing gorgeously unified visuals to ... this? using fucking scraps from a previous era just because she can? twice! its one thing to set forth with an idea and stick to it mentally or emotionally, but entirely another to just splice random shit together and publish it just because it ~ 'sort of works' ~ ... she's way better than this and so its painfully ironic that the critics no longer have anything negative to say, when the video is honestly trash and deserving of the hate that she would've typically received during the higher points in her career. no intelligence or insight or nuance, just vapid images and a hope for some far-reached analysis of an idea that was clearly never even there to begin with

you say that she doesn't want to be 'pop' but this is the most 'pop' mentality she's had so far in her career; literally cut and rehashed and devoid of feeling. but she knows that as long as its slow and pretty, and set to something * classical *, no one will be able to say anything negative out of fear of seeming ~uncultured~ ; i'm sure her motivations for this were calculated to ensure plausible deniability rather than any artistic growth

i see u bitch! hope this message (or something similar) gets to her ~ cuz she need to step it the fuck uP (or start to outsource)

like honestly, even when she was singing honeymoon last night, she sounded like she was half dead and basically let the crowd sing like 40% of the song. that's pretty much an equivalent metaphor for her visual efforts

Paradise is technically a standalone album with different vision, compared to Born to Die. Lana's stans should really get this right. Even in interviews Lana referred to Paradise as a separate album / body of work

okay i hate to be /that/ guy but.. i'm disappointed..

the video is good but it didn't belong to Freak! the aesthetic didn't match the audio at all, some scenes were way too long and should've been cut in half or even quarters, and other scenes (like the ones of her in the room with the record player) should've been explored a lot more.
also not her getting my hopes up with an 11 minute video and the last 6 minutes literally being slow motion shots of girls swimming?? like i wouldn't mind if it was her swimming but... mess!

if you play 'Brooklyn Baby' over the video right after the 'LANA DEL REY - FREAK' earth shot is finished, it fits up almost perfectly. i need someone to recreate the video with scenes from MTWBT, Honeymoon Sampler and Freak but with Ultraviolence or Brooklyn Baby

she's a mess for this... but saying that some of the shots were beautiful, the ones of her smiling

OMFG I'M LATE CAUSE I WAS SLEEPING FUCK I'm so excited I'm physically nauseous I hate her so much for managing to always keep me back on the stanning track every single time, this looks like it's going to be a legit video nothing in me is ready. Can someone confirm it's 6am in the UK? Cause of course I'm having the hugest day tomorrow so I planned everything to be able to wake up at 3am for it so of course it's not the right hour I really hope my expectations are meant because a 2s snippet is enough to make me imagine a billion different things omfg DID MY EYES DECEIVED ME OR WASN'T THERE ANY TRACE OF FILTER ON THIS 2s snippet. This is an excellent sign

OMFG SIS I WAS HOLDING BACK MY STANNING NOT TO BE THE ONLY ONE GETTING OFF BUT I'M VOMITING CHUNKS I'M SO FUCKING EXCITED THIS IS GOING TO BE SO SO SO MUCH BETTER THAN WHAT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE AND I DON'T EVEN LIKE THE SONG SO IT'S SAYING MUCH IDK HOW SHE DOES IT BUT SHE JUST HAVE TO BLINK AND I'M CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR SOBBING watch this becoming as iconic as the old videos era

-when you feel the urge to slut drop everytime you hear Body Electric and West Coast

-when you catch yourself dancing "sensually" to For K Part 2, Smarty and others

-when you mimick Lana being sensual overall (y'know? doing weird things with your hands like chocking yourself, putting to fingers in your mouth ala Blue Jeans video, etc)

     basically like this

-when you constantly think of having dangerous or sick relationships like the ones Lana describes in her songs

-when you forget how to actual dance and just twirl sadly around the dance floor

-when you know how to exactly make this facial expressions:

-whenever people say stupid shit you're just like:

-when you realize she made you a hundred times gayer

So, I have a Society6 account and I permanently upload new images. I already have 31 image in "Celebrities And Famous Characters" Gallery (mostly consisting of Lana's fan art), 59 in "Drawings And Illustrations" (it will be around 300 in the end), 48 in "Collages", 32 in "Collages_Simpler", and "Photography" (progressivelly growing), "Digital Art" and "Patterns".
(I have just a few heart shaped likes, because I uploaded those pieces on the site a couple of hours ago - and the number of followers is growing like flood; not bragging, just stating the facts )

If anyone is interested in purchasing Lana items, there are various sizes (the biggest are around $50,00).

Here are some captures of how it looks like (they go framed in whatever color you like, or printed on canvas without frame, for more contemporary look):

This is one of the T-shirts, the composition is a bit off because of the bloody body curves     and because her head is tilted back and to the side. Some other frontal picture with pyramidal composition would do the shirt justice.

Beside framed prints and unframed canvases, works can be printed on T-shirts as prints in the middle, and on shirts, tank tops, long sleeves etc. like all over prints. There are also leggings, pillows, iPod cases, mugs, cups, shower curtains, wall blankets and many, many more.

If you like my stuff on this thread and are interested in having one of the neatly and beautifully equipped artworks on your favourite room wall, let me know via private messages, so that I can give you link to my profile page.

His first album isn't his best haha. It's a good listen to for a 60s pop feel. Space Oddity, I like a few of the songs the album as a whole is alright.

If you like Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, and Aladdin Sane give Diamond Dogs a listen. That's kind of a hit or miss record, though but I love it dearly. If you're thinking about listening to his Berlin Trilogy give Station to Station (the album before he trilogy starts) a listen to understand what he was going through when he made Low, Heroes, and Lodger.
