I was trying to figure out who it reminded me of. Yeah, I agree, the production and the vocal stylings remind me of Grimes.

 

I don’t have any strong feelings about the lyrics, but I’m glad she’s doing something interesting with the sound and has seemingly found her groove again with the production and melodies. For me, even if a song is weak lyrically, good production can still carry it-- which was my main issue with L+F, where the writing was weak and the production felt mediocre.

 

I agree that she still has work to do when it comes to writing, but based on ADIAML and what I’ve heard from the new album, sonically, it feels like she’s slowly clawing her way back to where she used to be-- or at least moving in the right direction.

I’m currently trying to figure out the concept of this album through its visuals and tracks so far. The art style has a minimalistic vintage and romantic vibe, while Butterfly and Cupid's Girl feature a sweet, lively, and bubblegum sound. Lyrically, the album seems to be playful and fun.

I really don't have words to explain the whole aesthetic and soundscape the album will have, but here are some pictures I'd use to describe it:

i also think we could expect the album to have its darker, kinda carnival esque moments, similar to cupids girl, which sounds scary but also really light and airy. i really hope the entire album keeps that energetic electronic sound that butterfly and cupid have because im never usually against ballads but weve had so many the past few albums and the current sound is a lot newer and more promising imo

I listened to the I Love You snippet again and honestly, I don't really understand the hype  Like yeah, I love the strings as well but I don't like the part which comes before the strings, it has these weird sped-up vocals effects which reminds me of the voice when people inhale helium. Even the sped-up part in Butterfly sounds better than that part.

Oh, you find Cupid's Gal a bit scary? That's interesting!

So far, it does feel a bit more mystical than Butterfly, I won't lie. I think the scariest snippet so far is Sweet and Sour which is my favoriteeeee so far, so yeah, I hope the album has its eerie moments!

i also find it very scary lol. it reminds me of a halloween bop in a way because of a couple of the verses, namely the one before the chorus i think?
