Still haven’t listened to EYL, True or To Be Human but the rest of the songs on Love have grown on me

 

Did she really have to make Baby a part of the tracklist though. It’s not too jarring but it sticks out like a sore thumb considering all the other songs have slick/modern, almost futuristic sounding production.

Artists need to do concept albums more. It’s more interesting. I’d rather Marina pretend to be a suicidal slut again for a little while. I don’t mind. She’s sounding a bit like an old women who’s retired to a cabin in the woods lately...just very hippie and “love everything” cliches

 

Many of the new songs are slightly boring and a million songs like them exist. It’s such a flat inspired generic concept really....two albums called Love and Fear. My 10 year old sister could have thought of that. Same for Lana really, I felt “Love” and “In My feelings” were lazy. But what she lacks in song titles she makes up for in lyrics and production.

well sweetie you really couldn't get what she tried with this album. The thing is that she was sick of being act like a suicidal slut or whichever archetype she was acting. with love + fear it's more like a natural marina who got rid of all these thought and fakeness around her. Honestly the sole fact that you purposefully chose these songs that do not represent the album as a whole makes me understand you don’t really have a point and are really grasping at straws...

EH deals with depressioni (Living Dead), the socialisation of women (Sex Yeah) and much more... like in terms of themes it touches on a lot more subjects than M4

It’s not fake it’s artistry and creating a story. Like virtually anything it doesn’t have to be based on real life. I know some of the stuff is real but it’s dramatised a lot in Electra Heart. I just don’t see much of a concept Love and Fear it’s a bit basic really and a little uninspired. I still like the songs, but many of them feel lyrically weak and stale production. She needs a better producer. Like Justin Parker she should go back to him. I get she wants to be herself from time to time, I guess her next album after this there is hope still. Love and Fear is still good but her first two albums are just a lot better to me personally, Froot was good but suffered the same with weak songs.
