megan gets put through so much shit i have so much respect for that woman

putting herself through medical school while building up her rap career, getting shot, getting attacked by almost the entire hip hop community as well as some twitter gays, on top of just being a black woman in america

she has the absolute fucking right to immolate everyone and instead she's sat down and eaten her own food and basically have watched everyone turn themselves inside out to crack her

she shouldn't have to go through all this shit but i have so much respect for her for simply keeping her head up and doing her thing and being open about doing her thing

yeah, this might be it; i mean, not liking oversexualised art, stuff like this disgusting WAP, half-naked performances, twerking, sex-imitating dances, singing or rapping about basically getting fucked etc. Not me thing i guess, but I respect everyone's likes and preferences. It wasn't supposed to aim at ANY PARTICULAR artist (but there's a lot of them doing the abovementioned stuff), but actually the brought by you miss Stallion would (possibly?) be one of such artists? I guess? idk her background, and i don't feel like i need to in order to decide whether i like her stage persona/art direction or not. I'm only here criticising such artistic choices, not who these people are behind the stage, so if she was shot, attended medical school or whatever doesn't change my views on this sort of art direction.

I get what you're saying, and I agree. After a point, hypersexualized art is not my thing either. I don't let the visuals prevent me from liking the music, but it doesn't add value for me either.

 

It's the artists' choice what to create and how, and it's our choice whether we enjoy it enough to listen or watch.

i love how this thread is either people politely talking about how they really love something most people don't like or dislike something most people like but not shitting on them, vs people basically shaming artists for making music they don't like and performing it in a way that is "distasteful"

there's a difference between pornographic nudity/stage exploitation and nude artistic shot. Sky's not pornographic in that cover, but many of these girls' performances, visuals & videos are. See the way Sky performs - she doesn't need some cringe half-naked dancers, V-costumes and anything like that. This is the kind of art & energy I'm craving to witness from artists, getting on stage, showing the vulnerability, the feelings, singing their hearts out, staying classy, raw & in style (and i'm not talking here about her lateness to each and every concert this year - which was not that much classy tbh, but everything else about her performances, to me, is), basically being there for the music, and not for the colourful clown fiesta with ass shaking.

it's a topic about unpopular opinions. Opinion is opinion, and this is mine, and I have all the rights to dislike what I stated above. And because i truly dislike it, that's why my post may sound a bit harsh to some of you, but don't take it like that. Like what you like, arists be what they want to be & I can judge it, same as I can judge that ugly fucking pair of shoes my neighbour has.

 

+ i'm not calling any artist personally, so it's literally a safe opinion (miss Stallion wasn't brought here by me - I just responded to some sort of an accusation???)

She’s also renowned for being not a very nice person to the lower “class”-lots of stories of stealing tips back after Ben gave vegas workers them 💀 Mariah is a rude diva at times but I’ve heard she’s nice overall.

Sorry I thought it was common knowledge that JLo was given her career by Mariah’s ex (Mottola) and he stole some producers from Mariah to work with JLo. This is what I’m referring to.
