All standouts to me :gclap:

The only one I didnt love right away was TextBook, but now, even though I don’t go back to it that often, I really much love.

Black Bathing Suit was the first Lana song since Ultraviolence where I was like....okay...and had to listen to it multiple times for it to click. I can imagine this new record being the same for a lot of people, especially since BBS is the first voice note to production track she made

I asked Asmodeus (the demon of lust) to make Miley Cyrus suffer. I am not happy with these new developments. After Miley rips off Lana's aesthetic, she bullies Lana into changing her release date. It is infuriating.

i was on atrl for like 3 hours and couldn't find anything so could someone fill me in on everything BlackoutZone has said about each track from the upcoming record? thanks xx

I was thinking on making something like this so I’ll try my best

The Grants - full and beautiful, could have been used in an album trailer

Sweet - It’s good

A&W - his favorite song in the record, more than 7 minutes

Fingertips - Stunning, good representation of her “tibettian meditative singing” :ma:

Candy Necklace - I don’t think he said anything about this one more than guiding us to find the song title
Long acronym that I can’t find - similar to MAC on the topic of the song, tematically close to the ocean and the critics

Bleachers collab - It’s bad

SYML collab - It’s a sample of a song of him/them (idk if its a band or a vocalist lmao) with delicate vocals and songwriting

Tommy collab - its a “feature”

FJM collab - it’s fantastic but he is kinda SnowOnTheBeach’d

Judah Smith collab - its an spoken interlude, I think he said it’s bad

thats all I can recall from memory so if something is missing tell me

and also for giving me Margaret

So the Pastor one is an interlude?

I just hope Tommy's song isn't one too, and that her vocals are not just background, since I saw someone say there will be two interludes if I'm right.

BoZ made it seem like the Tommy track is the least collaborative track on the record, she really just wanted to credit Tommy on it

Although Lana’s more poetic and raw songs tend to be my favorites, I am looking forward to more “vibey” ones that really let the vocals and production deliver her intention.

I think TJF and VB are great examples of this, and while of course they both have meaningful lyrical content, I do feel that Lana’s own musicality and vocal delivery make the more repetitive lyrical moments special rather than redundant.

Though she did describe this as a wordy record, I have a feeling we’ll be getting some impromptu (automatic:oopna:) moments that will pair really well with an atmosphere-centered composition, but we’ll see!

This is the impression I got as well, especially with another insider putting female “rapper” in quotes. I’m expecting background vocals, but who knows—watch her have a spoken part or something random:whatever2:

I am curious about the lyrical content of the Tommy Genesis song, though. Even if she has a minimal role, Tommy Genesis has a very specific lyrical and sonic style, so I’m curious why she was selected for that track specifically. Will we be getting Lana’s take on a Tommy-esque track, or will we see her on a track like TUOB?

I’m not a huge fan of Tommy Genesis, but I’m honestly really excited for the collab!

My guess is that Tommy did a spoken intro/outro to the song or took part in producing the track!

That makes sense! I’m not sure if I’m making this up, but did an insider say that TUOB’s tracks didn’t all work well as standalone singles?

I’m almost wondering (especially given Tommy’s presence on the album) if the variety mentioned by BoZ means that the production varies noticeably among the tracks and requires a full listen for the “flow” of the record.

This record can’t come soon enough:lange:

Yep, BoZ said the album works better as an experience as opposed to a singles based approach

Yes, BOZ said that, while the title track is a generally good representation of the (orchestral) sound and lyrical content of the album, Lana shouldn't have released any singles, because none of the tracks work as standalone singles. Apparently one should experience the entire album without having being "teased" by a track beforehand. I think that it's a very intriguing observation; I know that BOZ loves cohesive projects, so it's interesting that the album has been described as wild, chaotic, poetic/conversational/wordy and with a lot of sonic variety, but doesn't feel messy. It's the first time I've heard someone describe a Lana album that way - that it works better as an experience -, so I'm very very excited about it.

I’m so glad I still haven’t listened to the single :trisha: with every new album cycle i’ve gained more self-control, from listening to the incredibly low quality honeymoon leak, to listening to the snippets for lust for life and nfr but not to low quality leaks, to refraining from listening to anything but the singles for blue banisters, to refraining from listening to the singles. i’ve been wanting to do this for quite some time now and it’s probably easier this era than it usually is, as the pre-release is short and there are no recycled songs, almost no snippets, probably just one or two singles and most importantly no delay :ma:

can we get a little piece of info please :toofunny: I don't care about tracklist that much but I would love to hear at least 5 s snippet of the next single :raven:  but not as a leak but from Lana herself

This was definitely the best tea. So I'm super excited too. I imagine the transitions between some tracks like Freak to Art Deco or Burn Norton to Religion. And also tracks that tell a story in chronology.
