Interscope needs to approve a budget this era. meaning I want music videos shot on film, cover art by nadie lee cohen (neil can take her usual promo pictures but he needs to sit out for the cover), short one/two word track titles that are capitalized, A CONCEPTTTTT. i need a 12-15 track album with transitions… concept wise, she has yet to touch Honeymoon. her most cohesive project next to NFR (in terms of sound) born to die was more cohesive than honeymoon honeymoon had jazz, trap, orchestras, acustic guitars. I dont think it was that cohesive at all. For me, her most cohesive albums to date are NFR and BTD. Production wise, melodically, lyrically. Total consistency throughout. then I'd say UV and Chemtrails. then LFL, HM and OB, all of which kind of push for different things. But that's what makes them a unique listening expericce and a bit more sonically diverse.

If it's indeed coming in September we have to get something in the coming months tho... yes-- agreed, I definitely feel like the look and especially the wardrobe change last night was signaling something. Hopefully we will have some more info/another update soon. 2 hours ago, honeymoon is alive said: i still have this feeling that lasso isn’t a song, just the title Reveal hidden contents or maybe not even the title if she already changed it Honestly I would not be surprised if she has changed the title already. She tends to do that when she announces titles early lol!

There's always a title track with lana. Plus, you can just see lana workin' that lasso angle poetically. The song is coming and it'll be one of the singles, if not the first

But that's what makes them a unique listening experience and a bit more sonically diverse. Personally, I think all of her albums have been cohesive except for Ocean Blvd. BTD was the hip hop/pop album that had classical influence all throughout. UV was gothic, keeping the strings but now adding psychedelia, electric guitars, and rock influence. HM was Baroque Pop, a combination of vintage music with strings, acoustic guitars, Old Italy sounds + synths, electronic beats, futuristic sounds. LFL used that same idea of combining old and new, but in more conceptual way: one half was electronic while the other was acoustic, both sides also reflecting 'lust' vs 'life.' NFR was the first album to start heavily utilizing piano, but still nicely blended it with synths, electric guitars, and strings. COTCC was her folk album with piano, acoustic guitars/bass, and subtle percussion for a much softer sound than anything else before. BB was the piano album and everything was strictly piano-based except a few acoustic guitar ballads. OB is the only album that isn't cohesive at all. For most of the album, it's again piano-based. Title Track and Sweet and Fingertips may be more orchestral and strings-heavy, but still have prominent piano. Then, there's like 6 songs that can't even be grouped together in a genre because they are so sonically different. A&W with acoustic guitar + piano that leads into trap, LTLI that is a warm organ and guitar song, Margaret which is a classic Bleachers-esque song, Fishtail which is an auto-tuned piano synth and electronic drums song, Peppers which is an electric bass and guitar song that also has rap and a fast-paced surf rock bridge, and then Taco-Truck x VB, which is closes in sound to Peppers because of the beachy electric guitar throughout the first half of the song. Then it transitions into a trap version of VB. 6 Quote the earth shattered, the sky opened that rain was fire, but we were wooden

NikoGo 60,678 Posted April 20 I think Lasso absolutely is a track. She’s never not had a title track! I also think the album is still named Lasso because of the western themed chat last week that had a heavy focus on lassos 12 Quote "Don’t forget me"

Pico Ocean Boulevard 41,041 Posted April 20 If she decided to put a cover last minute on Lasso I hope it's The End Of the World by Skeeter Davis 1 Quote "Swan Song. It’s on my album Honeymoon. It’s the antithesis of hopefulness. It’s about trying to find beauty in giving up. If I had my way, I would continue to persist in all areas of my life, but it can be quite challenging because I can be too trusting too soon."

IfI was making a best-of LDR compilation, choosing three great songs that sound like they belong on the same album is easy for all. But you can't find three songs on OB that sound like they're from the same cloth. The closest to that is OB, The Grants and maybe Candy Necklace. But those are not the best songs on the record. And, generally speaking, shifting from OB to AW to Let the Light in and Margaret to Peppers and Taco Truck is always a bit of a mind-fuck. Some of these songs belong together (e.g., Sweet, Fingertips, Kintsugi, but in the end you have about four little EPs rolled into one. It's almost like these songs were scraps from different albums or unreleased songs clumped together. Even BB, which was literally that, sounded more cohesive. Still love the record though.

I think OB is cohesive in the sense it feels like a journey, the songs blend because it transitions quite well.. I mean, A&W completely switches in the same song and it works! for me I’ve always found BB the least cohesive.. it sounds like a mix tape. I love all the tracks as stand alone songs, but it’s a record I don’t tend to listen start to finish like the others 6 Quote like a dream, you glide on the water and like a star, I shine from the shore
