Future Jazz 9,475 Posted Saturday at 05:17 PM i don't really care about whether or not people are going to think she's late to the party... she's been making those country songs for years so we know she's not following a trend, not that it really matters as her music is always unique aren't you guys curious about her exploring this genre that she's always been interested in, knowing that those songs have been finished for months/years
SalvaWHORE 34,440 Posted Saturday at 06:51 PM no because i am ready for her moving on from country, and if we know Lana, we know that she is always a game changer - not a trend chaser. Imagine she come out with country songs produced by jack antonoff - that sound like what Sabrina Carpenter has just released? But if its still country, it will have a twist - which will be very Lana. 5 Quote @WHORE OF TROPICO ⇨ @SALVAWHORE

Lana’s work works because she’ll pull out a genre almost in isolation of the rest of the world. So she can do that in the future when this country craze has passed. Give us something different now 5 Quote like a dream, you glide on the water and like a star, I shine from the shore
Embach 49,707 Posted Saturday at 08:09 PM Would have you accepted a full country album from Lana in idk for example 2017 when it wasn't as trendy as now tho?
Future Jazz 9,475 Posted Saturday at 08:13 PM i don’t think she should adapt to what her peers are doing in any way! if her inspiration was to do country, i’m happy she followed it refraining from making the kind of music she wants to make simply because others are doing it would be being determined by the trend. i’m happy with her doing whatever she feels like doing no matter what the ‘trend’ is also you guys know she’s been making country music for years and some songs on the album were made in 2020-2021… so we literally know this is not her being a trend chaser

I would never be all for it, but I know she could make it work and would have hope 2017 would’ve been fine, but I think the over saturation of “country” into the mainstream and now it’s going to very suddenly depart that’s the issue. Her releasing country album and dragging Dolly Parton out now would be TACKY. 7 Quote like a dream, you glide on the water and like a star, I shine from the shore

I'd accept one from Lana at any time. In its pure form, it's the oldest American genre; it's beyond trendiness. I don't understand why she abandoned Lasso due to some other non-country artists were producing their version of a country album about the same time. We know she has a unique idea of what a country song sounds like. If Ride is country, then I'm all for it, as it's one of my all-time Lana favorites.

Nightcall 3,069 Posted Saturday at 09:13 PM I have a feeling her vision of a country album stays more true to the classic sound versus the genre bending tongue in cheek country albums of today. So I’m still expecting the singer-songwriter style she was talking about a while back.

Folk is one of oldest form of music from the first settlers in America, as well as gospel. Before that, it was Native American music. Country developed in the early 20th century which blended folk with blues and gospel. Folk and gospel basically laid the foundations for country music, but it’s by no means the oldest. Actually it’s relatively new in the grand scheme of things. Whether or not Lana leans more into folk than country, I don’t mind. I’ll admit I’m not buzzing for this album but I know when it comes I’ll love it. After 13 years of being a Lana fan, I’ve never been disappointed by an album.

Lasso is TRPWS, its just retitled idk why people dont understand that. this album is probably gonna be just like COTCC and BB just with a little more country flair and folk elements
Americen Whore 10,950 Posted Sunday at 12:45 PM With all the waiting, I hope she’s planning on adding a couple of songs to the album, I would be so pissed if we lost a track from the 13 tracks to an interlude, country roads, or tough.

Also, 12 songs is aok with me as long as there are no skips. OB could have been 4 tracks shorter easily.

robster 89 Posted Sunday at 01:06 PM i also have a feeling that RBFY isnt even on the album and she just did that for whatever reason. @Brightsun said what they said too so i think she did that for shits and giggles basically saying shes a fan of the song too

Pico Ocean Boulevard 42,447 Posted Sunday at 03:11 PM Tbh I wonder how much she changed about the album when she went from Lasso to TRWPS. She started to mention southern gothic sure. My theory is that she kept a good amount of tracks from the OG /Lasso e.g Henry and scrapped a few, possible the most country-ish ones and replaced those with a few new songs she wrote (the ones that could be more "southern gothic", maybe the title track as well). And I mean since she is so quiet about it since the announcement, maybe she is making changes again or refines the album, who knows. I just hope that in the future she will talk about the process and the changes in an interview 4 Quote "Swan Song. It’s on my album Honeymoon. It’s the antithesis of hopefulness. We're going country." So it was never about "omg everyone's doing country now, so i shouldn't". Her album just wasn't working for whatever reason and she needs more time.
PARADIXO 33,342 Posted Sunday at 03:15 PM After 14 years of being her fan and so many albums, this time I'm not thinking of the process of this album or how much she changed or any of that, I'm literally just waiting for it to come. Tbh it's become stressful, her pre-releases.
