Hey guys,

When most pop artist have a trend of using a phrase that is repeated during the chorus as the song title, Lana is known for more surprising choice of titles for her songs.

For exemple :

- The choosen title for Wild On You / The colour Blue is actually Nectar of the gods.

- Something Real ended up being called 13 beaches.

Give a more obvious title to any existing song from Lana.

Cruel World - Crazy For Me

Old Money - Blue Hydrangea

Coachella - Stairway To Heaven

Yosemite - Right Reasons

Dark But Just A Game - Best Ones Lost Their Minds

Tulsa Jesus Freak - Close To Jesus

Textbook - Old Man River / Thunderbird / Rewrite History

I don’t think any of these are better than the actual titles but it was fun :)

"Swan Song. It’s on my album Honeymoon. It’s the antithesis of hopefulness. It’s about trying to find beauty in giving up. If I had my way, I would continue to persist in all areas of my life, but it can be quite challenging because I can be too trusting too soon."

What's funny is that all of these are logical but not one fits better than the actual title I think. Lana's song titles like Yosemite or Cruel World add to the entire feeling of her songs

Guys, all your replies make me realize how it applies to most of her songs. I love how she choses to name her songs more like poems than songs. Some don't even have the title in the song.

Oh Gosh I love Color me blue.

Ultraviolence - We could go back to New York (Loving you was really hard), We could go back to Woodstock (Where they don't know who we are)

Hope is a dangerous thing teas' :smile3: Maybe she could have pulled a Fiona Apple and made it the album title as well.

Cola = Pussy

I can't believe the song is actually registered with that title :thumb3:

I think it was censored like the "Fuck me hard" part in Born to Die. Too bad :oic:

I totally agree. It just shows how wisely she chooses her song titles

Here are some that come to my mind :

  • West Coast :
    • Parliament on fire
    • I'm in love
    • Down on the West Coast

  • Shades of cool :
    • Unfixable
    • Can't Break Through Your World

  • Cola :
    • To the other side

  • Video Games :
    • Heaven is a place on hearth

Feels like you did the opposite for some of those (particularly the 3 last ones). You took some obvious Lana titles and you choose something with more of a twist :flutter:
