ilovetati 15,299 Posted July 6, 2014 Agree. I had the same thoughts. I also think the "Lay me down tonight in my linen and curls" line could possibly be a reference to Lorde's young age, like she has to be put to bed like a baby. Also agree that this line doesn't add up. Maybe the song's mostly about Lorde, but this line is directed at someone else? Mimicking me is a fucking bore. Also, "Need you baby, like I breathe you, baby Need you baby, more, more, more, more Need you baby, like I breathe you, baby Fucking need you baby, more, more, more more" She's being sarcastic/sardonic in response to this quote: "I listened to that Lana Del Rey record and the whole time I was just thinking it’s so unhealthy for young girls to be listening to, you know: 'I’m nothing without you.' This sort of shirt-tugging, desperate, don’t leave me stuff. That’s not a good thing for young girls, even young people, to hear"
Anthem 1,558 Posted July 8, 2014 I have a confession that I thought she was talking about STDs when I first heard "You got nothing / I got tested". Awkward/TMI. 8 Quote Goddesses don't speak in whispers. They scream.

timinmass101 100 Posted July 21, 2014 Diss songs are as old as Rock 'n Roll. Lana generally keeps her mouth shut in her interviews about other performers, but clearly likes to write songs that are deeply personal and emotional to her. Lesson here ... don't piss off Lana, or get a song written about you! You go girl! 2 Quote Watch what you say to me, Careful who you're talkin' to.

GangstaBoy 3,930 Posted October 23, 2014 A little something I noticed a while ago but never posted... A possible explanation for the Riviera Girls thing The Riviera (colloquially, "the Riv") is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester, Nevada. The resort has one long-running show: Crazy Girls, a topless show. Didn't she say she met Dan A. at the Riviera club or something like that?

BlueJeans 2,608 Posted April 14, 2015 Riviera can also refer to a bit of the mediterannean area that includes France (Côté d'Azur) and Italy.

Limelight 4,709 Posted July 19, 2015 So, have we figured out if she says dragon or drag and? Did someone check on the lyrics booklet sold at the tour?
ilovetati 15,299 Posted July 19, 2015 So, have we figured out if she says dragon or drag and? Did someone check on the lyrics booklet sold at the tour? I was just about to post something like this. The tour booklet doesn't add anything new. Listening to the live versions, I'm beginning to believe again that it is "drag and..."

Lad 8,801 Posted July 19, 2015 Where did they get it from? How can we know it's official?I've got that website bookmarked for like 3 months because it was once posted at MarinaBoards but idk how reliable it is. I guess they wouldn't sell something they don't have the rights to. Here's more about the website: http://www.musicnotes.com/blog/about/
cheaptrailertrashglm 3,568 Posted December 10, 2016 i'm pretty sure it's dragon. if this is a diss song, dragon would be her showing her power and dominance. calling someone a whore could mean a literal whore or fame whore. anyways, this is the song that made me realize Lana is queen. 1 Quote ~INSTA~
wittycatchphrase 1,399 Posted January 24, 2017 I may be irrationally angry but how does "dragon" literally make any sense? I feel like "I'm 'a drag' and you're 'a whore'" at least has some logic to it....general public can see Lana as a "drag" due to her more melancholy music.
Ultra Violet 18,996 Posted January 30, 2017 I always get Marilyn Monroe vibes from this song. It's like Lana is singing it as a bit of a joke, but was actually thinking of Marilyn at the time too. Everyone knows Marilyn slept with people in the modelling and movie industry, and then JFK. And the whole "this is my show" just reminds me of her so much because in the end, she was the most famous female of her time and the people she slept with were nothing (ok besides jfk obviously, but that was an affair, not her trying to get to the top). And the "lay me down tonight in my linen and curls/diamonds and pearls" - how can that not remind you of everything Marilyn?
