I swear Tunnel Vision, Dragons Blood and Garden have her best lyrics in a long time!! So cohesive and without stupid metaphors… simple yet effective! The dragon as an image of depression and intrusive thoughts and the garden as a comun proyect with a partner (also can be seen as a conceiving a child?). We already have one, hope the other 2 get included

Hate is literally the weakest word in existence for my take on that album. And I say that as someone who was hyped for it. Waiting for it. Had popcorn and everything for the whole long-ass debut of the album-movie on YouTube.

After sitting through it, I suddenly understood why every single review and news article for it from that time kept mentioning the 6 mil price tag attached to it; they were trying to justify that it was good because of what it cost.

I have nothing constructive to say on that album. This comment is as civil as I can be. Everything else is a primordial surge of frustration and anger riding on the expectations I had of her on Crybaby.

I want this next album to recoup some of that energy I had for her and grow it into something warm and adoring again. Desperately wanting it.

I mean it was underwhelming, specially for all the years it took to make. It has its good moments but songs like Class Fight, Strawberry Shortcake and Orange Juice totally ruin it for me, the tracks sound really similar and there’s few upbeat moments. That said, what completely ruined the era for me was the “movie” if u can call that a movie… so f-ing bad written it made me cringe to even think I was hyped about that (in my defense she came though in the CB music videos till that date so expectations were high). For me to say I hate it it’s a strong word, I did enjoy specially the run from Nurces Office to Drama Club a lot, even if now I don’t come back to listen to it as much as CB.

Well… I love Charli and this is not a read at all but she has like 3M subscribers while Melanie has 14M with less material and career time… I know that’s not telling of the cuality at all and Charli is really talented… but that said I can understand why the label works this way!

I will say this of it all; it was ambitious.

And, if I'm going to be human, not all projects and ideas pan out in reality to their concepts, and not all projects are going to get universal acclaim from critics or fans, so.

I'm happy to chalk that up to the 'Sophomore Slump', and see what she does now that she's lifted Grimes's aesthetic for this next album cover.
