Lust For Life - Pre-Release Thread

Recommended Posts

You are a girl after my own heart! My fave game and one of my fave films. I'd love it if she did a STUDIO cover of this song <3

Plus she no longer sings as high as she did so it would probably sound a million times different

I wonder if Lana will continue the pattern of getting a higher metacritic score with each release

HOLD THE FUCKING PRESS I JUST REMEMBERED THIS SONG EXISTED AND IT SHOULD BE THE VINTAGE LFL COVER ITS LITERALLY PERFECT, FROM THE LYRICS TO THE VINTAGE SPACE AESTHETIC IN TBE VIDEO:

(For those of you who think it might be familiar, it was used in the radio soundtrack for Fallout 4 and in Girl, Interrupted (spoiler) during the scene where Daisy commits suicide. There's probably more examples but those are two that I know of personally)

I pre-ordered Fallout 4 and got it on release night. The very first song that played for me when I used the Pip-Boy radio was this song, right as I got outside of Vault 111. I can't not associate this song with a Nuclear Holocaust now tbh.

See, I super didn't want to bring up Fallout in this thread because I wasn't sure what % of people here would have ever actually played it but Fallout (pre-war) is what I expected this era to take from aesthetically. Especially with the rising tensions on war.

For those of you that don't know, Fallout is a post nuclear role playing video game where before the apocalypse happened the theme was retro-futurism, which is what they believed the future would look like in the past.

Fallout 3 only ever had one concept artist, Adam Adamowics (rest in peace!) and he's a huge art inspiration to me.

Some Fallout art for those interested/wanting to feel retro-inspired for this era:

You had me at Fallout 4 sis

Also the cover she should do on LFL is Connee Allen's Rocket 69 tbh, the space slut theme :flutter:

I knew you were a Synth :hooker:

Ok ladies, back to the topic! There's a gaming thread already!

I am absolutely not a Synth! I am 100% an organic, natural, gluten free human being and I am frankly affronted that you'd accuse me of being such a thing!

Yeah, I don't know how a song about the world ending due to a breakup would fit on Lust for Life. It seems to heavily contradict Lana's message of hope and an optimistic perspective towards the future. :um2:

Can we talk about this articleee thoooo. Just seen it on reddit. Sorry if there's already a thread? I did look.

He's a college sophomore studying history.

Nothing wrong with those two things but that doesn't give him enough clout for anyone to actually take this article seriously. Pass.

Her social awareness is a "marketing ploy"? As if. If she wanted better marketing to be more successful Ben and Ed probs still wouldn't be in the picture. If Lana were after success this musical era would have had more promo.

I hate it when journalists pretend their unresearched opinion is journalism. If it were only to sell albums she'd be trying a lot fucking harder to sell the damn album, but she isn't. So basically that invalidates the whole article with literally one point.

Well done, you went to college for this.
