The amount of money put into this project converts to nearly 7.5k in USD.

You know what I would give to have had even a small fraction of that $7.5k when my cat was dying of cancer and I was barely scraping up enough money just to afford consultation appointments to find out what was wrong with her so I could have ended her suffering sooner?

You know what I would give to have had a fraction of that money just to have helped family members of mine afford treatments to help ease their agony and get them comfortable while they endured terminal illness?

And yet I have to see someone use that much money (that wasn't even theirs to use to begin with,) to pay off a Mac computer and a Netflix subscription, among other luxuries, and chalk up such irresponsible financial decisions as "essential to human existence." I think everyone continued to lead quality lives just fine without DVDs being shipped to their houses in 1998 and their favorite shows being streamed directly to their devices since 2007.

I thought the case of Ethan Couch would have been the first and last time I had to hear about the poppycock diagnosis of "affluenza"; clearly it is contagious and exists in various strains.

You know what I did when my Spotify Premium subscription was up and I couldn't afford to pay another month? I didn't renew it.

You know what I did when my PlayStation Plus subscription was up and I couldn't afford to pay for another month? I didn't renew it.

You know what I did when I quit my job in November under the false pretense that I had another job lined up, and couldn't afford Christmas gifts because I was unemployed? I didn't spend money I didn't have, and I told everyone not to worry about me for Christmas.

I especially did not use money given by people, who were customers expecting a product to be developed and distributed to them as promised, to pay off debts I racked up under my own accord.

As someone who suffers from depression, anxiety, and OCD, that open letter was absolutely cringeworthy to read, because I saw more investment in elaborate and outrageous excuses to justify irresponsibility, practically begging readers to say "Oh, I TOTALLY get that," than I saw investment in assuming full responsibility and remorse for letting one's personal issues cloud their judgment.

As the son of a business owner, and as a partner of a creative business, that open letter was absolutely cringeworthy to read, because under zero circumstances do you touch a single red cent of your customers' monies before you provide them absolutely 100% of your services. You do not touch a single red cent of your customers' monies before you provide them the quality product they paid for.

Putting the copyright legalities of the lyrics alone aside, as far as the use of pictures go, that money could have been used to pay artists to replicate photos or even contribute their own art for the project. I can already tag a handful of members on this forum who are talented and aspiring artists/graphic designers, and would have loved to contribute to this project for a small fee, or even for free, had they been asked or offered the opportunity.

He says he intends to refund everyone, but I have to chuckle at the advertising of snapbacks, as though his reputation as a seller has not been compromised in the slightest, and anyone who already lost money investing in the book, would be inclined to confidently put another dime into his business. Bite the bullet, try harder to find work, and actually earn the money that is going to be used to pay everyone back.

Even then, let's say that he gets a job where he is paid $9/hr. or better, and intends to put $200 aside out of each paycheck to pay off the debt his shenanigans caused him. If he is paid bi-weekly, he is only seeing a paycheck 26/52 weeks a year, which means that it would take him at least a year just to pay off $5.2k of what he owes everyone, adding on another 11.5 weeks to pay off the remaining $2.3k or so, if I am doing my math right.

With that kind of time-frame, I'd love to see how well he commits to this lofty attempt at redemption and compensation, as nice as the ideal sounds when you are looking at it through rose-colored glasses. It sounds like there is an overwhelming amount of customers to keep track of, and I'd be concerned that, eventually, he would lose track, and either forget people, or accidentally give people double or triple the amount they are owed.

I certainly hope he figures it out as soon as he puts his life, his values and his priorities in perspective, and I certainly hope everyone who invested in this failed project gets their money back, one way or another; and if the above theory is the most likely approach to each customer seeing their refund, they start thinking about if they are willing to wait that long, or intend to take other measures to get the refund they deserve. PayPal only handles claims within 180 days of the transaction so I wouldn't expect them to willingly rush to everyone's aid.

I also hope that the moderators have been considering how to possibly handle future situations like this, should another member attempt to use their fellow peers and their love for an artist to gain profit, and fail to carry out their obligation as a vendor/seller with the utmost integrity and consideration; and so it is not misunderstood (as I love and respect each of the mods here,) I am not saying "I hope" as a passive-aggressive jab. I am saying it as a genuine inquiry because as a fellow member here, the integrity of our community is just as important to me as I know it is to everyone else, no matter who was involved in this.

Underneath the layers of excuses and awkward attempts to persuade everyone into pity and understanding, this was still a scam like any other. Regardless of whether or not anyone involved could have used better judgment than to invest in a product, that didn't even at least make it past the prototype phase, friends and peers were manipulated by a member of our community, with whom they had entrusted a monetary investment. It is just as much of a display of poor character as it is when members here spread false rumors of unreleased music to garner attention, and not for the sake of a laugh or to make a point. We've had good members who have been banned for less and never got to explain themselves.

    Good luck, guys.

    And some smokey covers:

And, yesterday was the closening of my exhibition and I managed to sell four out of 36 exposed digital collages, which is a miracle because my shitty country is lead by catastrophic, corrupted politicians, economy is in the dead end, there is no market place for arts and we are all fucked up, so that is a trace of light in my existencially troubled life. Plus, the curator didn´t want to promote the exhibition at all because the content is "too provocative and shocking". Today? In postmodern era, where anything goes? Only in my weirdo country Why do I write it here? Well, to ease my soul...
But, fuck rotten patriarchal anti-secular banana, I have my Saatchi.and the whole wondrous planet.

  15. sadgirl69 liked a post in a topic by trayertrash in Woolridge? Last name?
Her real name is Elizabeth May Woolridge, she was forced to live with Robert Grant after her real daddy, K (Kenneth Woolridge) was sent to jail for his incestious relationship with Elizabeth. Robert was always referred by her family as her 'uncle' but there is no blood relationship. He was infact Kenneth's first in command in their sex slave chain. Kenneth entrusted Robert to keep his daughters safe and out of the business. Robert didn't want her to linger over her love of her daddy anymore, her wanted Elizabeth as his own, so he and Patricia decided to tell her that Kenneth was a murderous drug dealer & was sent to death row. Robert, who is a polygamist, wanted Elizabeth and Caroline to be apart of his family and invited them to marry him and his wife Patricia, which they did. Of course, their marriage is not illegal, but to symbolize their commitment to the marriage, they changed their last names to Grant.

LANA DEL RAY PROJECT - PALM TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE

This project is NOT FOR SALE. I DO NOT claim any rights on any of the information presented and I made this for entertainment purposes only. All images and fonts belong to their owners.

Ok so before starting, I would like to emphasize how happy I am with the result of this project. I had the desire to create a black and white cover for AKA since last July when I started making edits and never had until now the knowledge required to put my idea to reality and I'm honestly really pleased with the result.

I always thought of AKA in black and white, when I hear the songs I automatically think of them as the soundtrack of a contemporary movie but in black and white, and this is definitely a night record for me so black is really the basis of this project. However, as much as I also see some yellow and gold tones, the association of pink and black (along with, if you know my stuff a tiny bit, pink and blue haha) might be my favourite one and it felt very appropriate for how feminine this record rings to me and I particularly appreciate high contrasts and subtle touches of colour, especially since pure black and white can be monotonous and this record definitely isn't. The original pink used was much redder and brighter but I had to tone it down a lot purely for readability purposes and actually it might be even better.

The cover and jewelcase back pictures both come from the Ultraviolence sampler video, which is probably and to my surprise my favourite video Lana put out. To achieve the effect, I just photographed the screen. I really wanted to use the Coney Island wheel as the cover and not Lizzy's face because as much as this record doesn't only focuses on New York I strongly believe it's the most emblematic monument in the Lana Del Ray landscape (and Rey too, or maybe Château Marmont). It for me represents and synthesise the essence of who Lana was between Lizzy and Del Rey. For the back cover of the jewelcase, and so the very last thing, I chose this precise screencap for two things: palm trees in black and white, for Jump of course, last thing I saw before I died and last thing in the jewelcase, to close it all; and the view of the ocean behind to recall The Ocean, the first song, Kill Kill, and close the loop. I also used my own cover I made for Mermaid Motel from screenshots of the video but without the text, a screenshot from Jump because she looks extremely beautiful imho, and the rest is basically beautiful pics I found on the internet that immediately reminded me of the record and are in the same vein as every AKA project I've seen yet. I also changed the trailer park sign for Yayo picture, the sign said "for sale" and I changed it to Lizzy The pictures and the idea of black and white basically are what made me concretize this project which is a slightly different take from the other AKA projects. Lastly, this is also part of a portfolio I'm preparing so I tried to do it as professional, slick and realistic as possible, and as always when I use some numbers, all the legal credits are from the best album ever, Ultraviolence

As much as I love making things by myself and I have a very particular vision, I would like to emphasize how much I hugely respect the work of others before me and I would like to especially thank @@Anthem and @@Trash Magic for their astonishing work on the iconic AKA project, which I really admit is a hundred percent the basis of mine, I could never have done this without your work guys thank you SO MUCH, the Photoshop guides saved me! I do believe your vision is the closest thing to what the original record could have been and I'm grateful for that! I also used for the insert one of the pics you provided, that was a great idea of yours

If you find any error, PLEASE tell me, I'm going to print it for myself but I'm definitely not sure I got the bleed lines right and I already changed some things since I put it out yesterday so don't hesitate to tell me!

    FINAL PRINTED BOOKLET

UPDATE: Changed the first page of the booklet.

UPDATE 2: Changed the Mega file for the booklet with correct bleed lines. It's now definitely ready to print

UPDATE 3: Changed the Mega file for the insert and jewelcase back. Unfortunately I don't have the skills to redo it properly in InDesign so the text probably will be of a lesser quality than the booklet as it's imported as an image and I didn't knew how to add the cut lines but I figure it wouldn't be too hard to do it once printed with another jewelcase to check. I'm a bit concerned about the size as I couldn't for the life of me figure how to find the correct dimensions on InD but I'm gonna proof print it anyway

UPDATE 4: an angel pointed me that I wrote Kahne as Khane on everything so I'm going to kms but I corrected everything. It's now absolutely done and I need a hug really badly I didn't corrected the flipbook or pictures but the printing stuff is definitely up to date

UPDATE 5: Lmfao I forgot to change the colour of a text block and printed it without noticing. I added the pictures of the final printed product and corrected the files! Everything is perfect now
