Yeah I think specifically about the Hotel rape scene and I think that was very distasteful. I think the Coven one was honestly disturbing (as they all are to me) but you're right it had a point for more than one character- also what happened to Kyle was because of it. The murder house one wasn't as bad because Vivian didn't fully realise until a while after and that is no joke sorta realistic as hell. I do hope 1984 stays clear of that direction tho It seems the most cliche of them all, like they haven't even tried to show anything out of ordinary yet, but I have hopes. Ryan isn't that stupid.

I had a feeling that Dollhouse and Carousel (as the earliest released CB songs) sounded different because while she already had the idea for the full album, she didn't have her sound nailed down yet. And I kind of think DH and C have more basic pop elements compared to the rest of her work. Maybe it was on purpose. But yeah she does show the ability to stay true to her style all throughout the album which is why it's so amazing. I wonder if all of K-12 will really feel like "Melanie Martinez" to us. We had to linger on CB for 4 years...

Yeah I definitely hear Mrs. Potato Head vibe in these, some of Training Wheels, and also the chorus of Cake (in her vocal style). I also think the build up in Principal will be similar to that in Soap. When we think about it, Cry Baby was so cohesive that it nearly all-round had the same vibe, why did we ever expect the snippets of K-12 to show otherwise? Tag You're It /Milk and Cookies is one of the best back to back songs to exist. Also Tag You're It has one of my favourite Mel hairstyles in all of her videos

I love Mel's part in I Scream but the rest is just painful to get through Way better
