I don't think lyrics have to be really complicated or profound to be considered "good" .. I mean that varies from person to person anyway and I think when they are combined with Lana's voice+ how she emotes them + production, etc. it just works

I think this is also a case of her over obsessing about authenticity.. like sometimes she acts like she doesn't care and sometimes she builds these back stories or ..whatever to make her lyrics personal/ have a deeper meaning.  She's the strangest person I've ever not known lol

Can definitely imagine this as the sort of thing she mentions once in an interview and never comes to fruition.

Don't underestimate how eventful this is, evil, have you seen her past setlists?!

I so agree. And it's no wonder that she shut down.. it seems like she knew the angle the story was headed. Or maybe she didn't want to stick her foot in her mouth again. Either way, I like that she took the power in her hands and controlled the situation.. the interview portrayed her as very confused and unpredictable which I think is accurate.
 
And God the ending reads like an excerpt from valley of the dolls lol

this is all so painfully true but somehow i don't think she gives a shit? or its like, she alternates between giving too much and too little of a fuck 
 
like she's so selfish and so self-contained that the outside world rarely 'break(s) through [her own inner] world" but occasionally when it does, she flips the fuck out and suddenly cares until she reverts back into her natural state a minute or so later? i legitimately think that's why she seems so fucking crazy. like, where is she today? in lana world or the real world? they're both equally visceral. and she's obviously capable of (and forthcoming about) inhabiting both spaces; its just that you (the interviewer or the fan) are unable to know which one she's in. maybe she wanted the fame but just isn't cut out for the press (on a consistent scale, at least) 
 
doesn't matter, really -- she'll always be polarizing and there will always be people that love her for it (and i think she knows this, too)
