A&W is extremely dark, I'm not sure how fans or Lana can dance to it because I can barely get past the first half due to the heavy lyrics (don't get me wrong, I still love because it's perfect but really sad )

She’ll probably announce a new tour and those who signed up will receive early access codes

Her singing "White hot forever" makes me emotional for some reason. The bridge on Dance Till We Die was interesting coming from her. Also Chemtrails, the single, has many outstanding moments but the whole part where she sings "It's beautiful (...) I'm still so strange and wild" is moving.

New age philosophy is for people who want to feel spiritual through changing superficial aspects of their lives or acquiring "hidden" knowledge, while losing contact with reality. I'm not a skeptic of the supernatural, just a person who is very aware of how damaging these cults can be. Reading esoteric books and such on your own is good but being surrounded with like-minded people is dangerous.

"Where Juana was a beauty queen." I know what the lyrics say, but just can't help but hear that.

I could finally listen to the album today and I didn't like it at all. I'm usually not the type of person who dislikes songs just because they're not "upbeat" or whatever and call them boring but in this case they are. Honeymoon as an album was slow but well thought out, Blue Banisters just feels lazy. Of course I will keep on listening to it, and hope it grows on me and regret this comment.

I've never been so unexcited about a Lana release before as I am for Blue Banisters. COTCC (the album) didn't click with me a whole lot, but so far, everything with Blue Banisters clicks with me like even 10 times than even COTCC did.

I could go without hearing BB, WW, TB, or Arcadia ever again and be completely indifferent.

It SUCKS to feel this way about one of your favorite artists of all time and one that has always immediately clicked with you every era previously.

'Rock Candy Sweet' was the superior title imho.

I couldn't care less about 'Arcadia'. Love the production, but the lyrics are a mouthful, they do not sound melodic and her vocal performance isn't there for me—she sounds out of breath. The videos are cute though.

Thank God for 'Text Book' and 'D**l*r'.

The outstretched tongue and middle finger in the Arcadia video is immature and destroys the credibility of the preceding four minutes.

I feel like BB is metaphorical and means change - in the song this man is supposed to paint her bannisters blue but then friends end up painting them grey or green i don’t remember (). So it’s like this album (or maybe her in general) want to become less boy crazy and  more focused on friends and family and herself. and i think thats why she kept it as album title even tho it’s not the most spectacular or catchy title.

honestly i even felt this way WITH the first three songs, they're all pretty different, of course, at the time i didn't think too much of it, and figured that it would all work within the entire body of work, but i feel like the album is quite disjointed and off-putting, this album has slightly psychedelic experimental moments with tempo changes, plain 'ol alternative ballads & piano ballads, dealer is some sort of alternative/soft rock song, there's a purely acoustic guitar track, living legend doesn't even sound finished, honestly, i think a big problem with it is the fact that this album has so many different producers, mike dean, zach dawes, drew erikson, barrie, rick nowels, & clayton & his brothers  of course, born to die, paradise etc. did also have a lot of producers, yet it still managed to be very cohesive & it worked well, it's really off-putting going from a breezy, psychedelic soft-rock banger, to a spaghetti-western trap beat which was honestly pointless, to piano ballads, to a song with electronic distorted beats, to songs she recorded in 2013 and didn't bother to really finish, because let's keep it real, living legend wasn't finished, back to a piano ballad, idk, i just feel like she should've taken it more seriously, dare i say, i think i prefer chemtrails  honestly violets for roses, beautiful, & sweet carolina aren't really anything different from anything that she made during the nfr/chemtrails era

i agree that she released the best songs as singles, which is devastating cause that's usually not the case with lana albums.

what i'm having trouble with the most is connecting with this album as a body of work, everything just feels very disjointed. the 3 pre-release singles, new album tracks, thunder & dealer, and the 3 unreleased songs from 2013 all feel like their own separate thing, and i understand that she didn't have to rework the old tracks because we weren't supposed to hear them in the first place but they literally sound unfinished so it does feel lazy to throw them on there like that. there's a good bunch of songs here but i feel like i'm listening to a playlist rather than an album.

I honestly feel like I'm the only one that finds 'Arcadia' to be insufferable. From the first time she teased it I was enthralled with the opening line, but the song as a whole now...

After much reflection, I can't say I like BB all that much. Honestly it just sounds like a repeat of everything we've heard from Lana. It's time to change things up. We've had these slow tempo sombre songs for God knows how many albums now. We need a new sound already. Hell, we even need a new style of lyricism.

I do like some of the songs on BB, but even the re-worked demos sound out of place on this body of work.

We need a genre like a swing-noir-western-delta blues sound. Just SOMETHING different. ANYTHING but sparse produced piano drivel!

We've talked about it in here before but she really does need to stop with these diary-like lyrics. Enough.
Ever since VBBOTG, it's as if she thinks that every single word in her diary is so fantastic that needs to be bestowed upon the world in the form of a song or poem. As I've said before, there's no filtering, and there's also no development of thoughts.
I also don't understand the people who say such lyrics are relatable. I go swimming in my friends' pools too but I don't listen to Blue Banisters and tear up because Jenny swam in Lana's pool.
Her lyrics of the past invoked feelings because the ideas and statements were more developed and therefore much more meaningful. There was an element of wisdom and now that's missing.
    Possible album spoiler statement
I hope she takes a long break before she threatens to release her next album (covers excluded) because I think, without one, it's gonna be more of the same

Idk if it's just my current mood but Blue Banisters is doing absolutely nothing for me.
I wanna like it so much but it somehow feels like leftovers
I'll come back to it in a few weeks and try again

I feel exactly the same. I sometimes question my feelings but I'm sure that it's based 0% on nostalgia because I recently (a couple of years ago) started listening her entire albums while before I was finding her songs on YT shuffle and feeling songs individually, not the albums as a whole. You're not alone, almost every fan I know in real life feels the same. The only songs that have her old energy are WW (if it had a better production), Dealer, Thunder, Text book and Living Legend but they still fail to reach the level of 2010-2017 in every aspect.

Someone already gave their theory if she has gotten lazy and we don't really know because we don't know her personally. Their theory is that she is surrounded by the same people and dreams of a simpler life, which is pretty normal for a woman in her mid 30s. I think that the music video for Blue Banisters is wholesome and cozy but I wish she had a less lazy vibe to her music. Honeymoon and Terrance Loves You are divine ballads with a simple melody but they have much more substance and emotion.

every album since Lust For Life is more of a mixtape/collection of songs than an actual album and they all seem somewhat unfinished
