I just can't watch this video the same way knowing that it was used unleaked UV footage that finally saw the light of day. I'm happy we finally got to see the video but it would've topped the short life of the UV era perfectly. A controversial video tributing an old serial killer in a controversial era based off a mans violence.  Unfortunately i've accepted the fact that that was the video we got for a song that has nothing to do with the footage. The underwater girls had potential too but instead they turned out to be a 6 minute long end credit.

I really liked the video. It's the best thing she's done all era, even though it's literally old UV era footage and doesn't fit the vibe of Freak or Honeymoon as a whole album. So technically the Honeymoon era is legit half dead

I've always thought Lana would be very suited to porn (minus her shyness) and it's really weird to me that some people see her as being sexually 'untouchable'. Like, she's talked openly about having casual sex and sleeping with a lot of guys from the industry, has portrayed a stripper and prostitute and identifies with being 'the other woman', has expressed her kinky sexual desires multiple times, and we've seen enough of her body to know what she looks like naked. Why do people think of porn as somehow crossing the line? Because so much of it lacks any artistry?

is that true ? Lmao everyday i learn something new about the UV era, that bottomless gold mine, that went wrong. Such a missed opportunity as a whole really ; it could have been a decade highlight in popular music and really transform her career. I guess now Lana herself must be so disgusted by the industry and how things never work out anyway. We should be glad she's just churning out benzodiazepine induced dark blues and getting chubby, & not turning back to booze, New Jersey and record executives.

If anybody can link me to that spot, that'd be awesome - but I also just wanted to start a thread for it. I've never done a video essay, but I plan on doing more (I'm currently putting some together for the films of Sofia Coppola, John Carpenter, Eric Rohmer, Don Hertzfeldt, and other filmmakers). It says something about my thoughts for Del Rey when I put her up with names such as them. Thought other Lana fans would appreciate what I think about her and such.
