I feel like with Positions she knew she could make a lazy album/not put that much work into it and still get tons of sales:
The photoshoot being basic fashion shots, the trap beats sounding exactly like her last two albums just with more strings, making the whole concept of the album about sexuality without exploring it more than with innuendos / obvious references, ... everything about it seem lazy/rushed
I definitely hope her next album will be better than that

Lady Wood and Blue Lips are 10/10 worth it
QOTC and Sunshine Kitty are great but more on the mainstream side
If you do it, I'd recommend going:
    1- Lady Wood
2- Blue Lips (It's called Lady Wood phase II so it makes sense to listen to it right after Lady Wood)
3- Sunshine Kitty (Then listen to the 4 bonus tracks of the Paw Edition, they're worth it)
    4- Queen Of The Clouds

It's funny how this thread goes from hating her > loving her > defending her > hating her > defending her > loving her > feeling pity for her > defending her > hating her

All in just a half a year lol

why are we dragging Dev for making successful songs on a sky thread ? when was the last time she was successful ?

anyway she says she made minor changes with Ariel and used to throw fits on twitter when dev would perform it live saying it's a song that he wrote/pitched for her ( which i was true ) because she thought she was being attacked ( our perfect victim ). two statements can be true, he could have pitched the song to her and she could have made adjustments.

anyway when's her next gig/ how long till she's reunited with her computer so she can finish learning after effects and edit this video ?

One thing that annoys me so much about AS7 is how the judges refuse to give any negative critiques except if it's for something Very obvious, and even then they put it very lightly. I get that no one goes home and they probs want other winners to see how this is a positive experience & come back but it makes the judging part of the episode so boring... They really acted like everyone was Excellent in this episode's improv challenge but most of them were just cringey?

Def Jinkx. Outside of her it rlly could be anyone with this star system. Rooting for Monet and Raja, but Raja already got robbed 2 times so that'll probs continue lmao (although she did finally get her first win... so who knows)

I think she just deleted the video by accident when editing and don't want to tell us (again)

    Ariana Grande - Positions
shut up 34+35 main thing / test drive motive (feat. Doja Cat) positions my hair off the table (feat. The Weeknd) safety net (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) west side love language nasty worst behavior / someone like u obvious pov *main thing and test drive are not sonically similar but lyrically they're very much in the same line. They're placed in the same track in the style @Inferno Euphoria suggested, and I used the same for worst behavior / someone like u.
*test drive directly blends into motive. It actually is a pretty neat transition, although it's the only one in the album.
*west side is an extended edit featuring a small bridge with the pre-chorus in a voicenote EQ, followed by a third chorus (2:55 rather than 2:12).
    *love language lacks the outro.

i’m not afraid to say that positions is a genuinely bad album and it’s a complete shame that ariana is SO vocally talented & yet she released a record filled with tiktok-pandering demos instead of experimenting with r&b & pop sounds which call back to the 90s & 2000s

obviously she can do whatever she wants but i personally feel like she really needs to step it up musically, i disliked sweetener at first because it wasn’t the dangerous woman sequel i was initially expecting, but now i can respect it for for being a fresh sound for ariana, but i think it’s time for something elevated with a new sense of maturity, she needs to drop that creepy baby voice she’s been doing & really experiment with her vocals & instrumentations

btw sorry if this sounded harsh oops

Fun fact: Tim Nelson (the guy Tove is working with on DF who also prod. How Long, NODFL and True Romance) is actually BetaTraxx, the same producer who allowed Marina to record over an instrumental he once did... and that's how Electra Heart, the last chapter from the era, was born.
