I am staying away from new Ultraviolence interviews. My nerves can't take it... all of this is really affecting me lately. I never looked up to and loved an artiste or person as Lana/Lizzy... even though I never met her I feel connected. I feel for her. I'll just wait for the record arrive thru mail and listen to it forever. Love you Lana, don't give up, you are special, you have the right to shine!

Yeah you have a point. But I feel really stupid for every little thought I obsessed on her Art now. Cannot explain. I feel very bad for feeding on her unhappiness.
Perhaps her contract and management force her to do what she doesn't want to, like happened with Elvis in his later years. Poor girl. I am praying for you from the bottom of my broken heart.

This song is one of my favorites ever of the unreleased collection and I think it's under appreciated.

This song feels like a film.

Read the first post in the Lanalysis thread for the best explanation. He's not really a boyfriend, maybe more like an admirer?

Lana filmed the music video for West Coast the first single from Ultraviolence, reuniting with model Bradley Soileau and began shooting with photographer/director Neil Krug

Her and Barrie were really cute but I think they made each other kind of miserable or fed off each others misery. He does seem like a very depressed person and I can imagine that was hard for Lana to deal with.

I don't buy that Lanz and Jimmy met for the first time in 2014 like he's trying to insinuate, there is too much that ties them together. But then again its all only on Lana's part, maybe she was just an obsessed fan and wrote about him a lot like some people think.

Put Me In A Movie is about the plot of Lolita ._. Everything that references the film industry is about Clare Quilty and how he attempted to get Dolores to film child pornography.

"If he likes me, takes me home."

Quilty liked Dolores, so he stole her from the hospital when Humbert was gone.

"Come on you know you like little girls."

    Self explanatory,

    "You can be my daddy."

References how Dolores never had a real father, so it could either be an "invite" for either Humbert or Quilty.

"He didn't know he'd have this much fun."

Analysis is quite open. Could refer to a real life relation of Del Rey's, could refer to Humbert but probably not referring to Quilty as ultimately he kicked her out when she didn't do as he said.

"You're my little Sparkle Jump Rope Queen."

Obviously just referring to Del Rey. She could possibly be putting herself in Dolores' place.

"You know I can't make it on my own."

Refers to how Humbert would blackmail Dolores. If she ever left him, he would be jailed and she would be take into care and "lose all of her possessions". She didn't have a mother to go home to and couldn't survive by herself.

    "Put Me In A Movie."

Again, refers to the child pornography that Dolores was asked to do by Quilty earlier in the novel.

Another point is that it is one of Del Rey's, if not her overall favourite book - she writes a lot of songs about Lolita so it's very much possible that what was just stated was quite true. It's open to debate but I doubt it is about her own experiences to some extent.

Because you remain an alcoholic all your life in most cases. Sober or not. It's mental. Alcohol was like one of her first lovers, the ones you usually never forget.

WHAT I DONT GET   if lana gave up alcohol soooooo long ago, then why is she still singing about it??

its all very fishy to me

i have to say that "confirmation" by him felt weird and incomplete. i remember the facebook post denying they dated and claiming they met in jan 2014. there was a comment there alleging that at lana's show he had said they'd known each other for several years. i also remember some other statement he made where he eluded to maybe being able to tell the truth one day? i don't quite remember, but i do remember it struck me as odd. i'm not trying to be a deluded stan but i really do think there's more to it than what he's letting on.

So far we have K, Jimmy Gnecco (presumed), Barry, James Franco (didn't actually date but lots of people ship them) & Fransesco.

I like her with James Franco

How did I never hear this before now?!! Was it a bonus on the regular U/V? I have the deluxe edition, and it's definitely not on there. Not complaining, though, as I really needed to hear this today, and it came like a gift!  I wish Lana would do more "piano and voice" songs. And those lyrics! Possibly one of Lana's most perfect songs, which says a lot.

Kind of a sad song, but it sounds so cute. I also really like the chirping birds added around the second verse.

    I didn't get those
    Witch Hazel Witch Hazel
    Beytrayal betrayal verses...

Thanks heaps for the interpretations. Witch Hazel = heroine... it makes sense.

This seems to be about Barrie, yes.

The Man to man... verse reminds me of that french interview in which Lana said she was "a man amongst men". I wonder if she uses those masculine terms referring to herself due to reading almost exclusively male writers?

She should make a movie with all of those experiences/made up experiences across the country with visual imagery like a François Truffaut/David Lynch hybrid

She was on a tireless journey to find inspiration obv.
She had the drive back in the day, but upon an unfortunate series of events she saw those dreams dash and divide like a million stars in the night sky, that she wished on over and over again, sparkling and broken.
