Surprise, surprise. I have honestly not been into a Lana album from start to finish after Honeymoon. Not to say that I don't like songs on both Lust for Life and NFR!, but there are just elements on both albums that make me not enjoy them to the fullest. Mainly the lyricism and trap beats on LFL and the horrendous production/mastering on NFR!.

both season of the witch and looking for America use that really separated vocal layering and I hope she continues to use it on this album

But that's the thing though... I felt like the musical outros on NFR! were kinda weak. Like in The greatest, it was weak to me, just lonesome piano notes? On Venice Bitch the musical interlude/outro makes up for more than half of the song, and it felt unnecessary long to me almost corny. I know this is an unpopular opinion, I know a lot of fans now revere VB has one of her best track, but to me it's a cute song, but just because it's 10 minutes long, doesn't make me think it's revolutionary for Lana as the instrumentation is very random in it. Also, Cinnamon Girl, that outro was very anticlimatic to me, same for How to disappear (but that goes for the entire song too).

I would definitely love her to get more bridges on WHF in lieu of these musical outros, but to each their own I guess.

True. But at the same time the vast majority of songs on Honeymoon had bridges and it remains her most complete album too. Lyrically, or from a a song construction perspective, I find that there's something missing on a lot of tracks on NFR! (aside from the production/mastering). For instance, to me, California ends too abruptly, or like Hope is just very repetitive and drags on for way too long. The Next Best American Record, imho, despite not being as good as the demo version, is probably the most complete song lyrically on this record, and you know why? *Bridge*

She and Jack definitely traded bridges for long musical outros on this record, I felt as though it was completely unnecessary at times, felt like kind of a drag to me personally.

For White Hot Forever (LDR6, LP6 (?)), I hope she has a completely different approach to making music than what she had on NFR!.

Lemme just say I think it's very cool that Lana is using her starpower to shed light on a couple of handpicked smaller artists that she has found interesting herself. It's a very modest, kind move. Hope she continues for the rest of the leg.

To me, BTD can be any season. Paradise rings fall to me. All the others are summer albums, just not the same moment of that season: UV is a dark hot summer, HM is just before fall (Nothing gold can stay...), LFL is warm spring going into hot summer (really fits my mood in that season; super optimistic in spring and then realize summer is just another season with its deceptions), and NFR is August going into fall.

Where does this crap about Dan Auerbach being a macho man comes from? Last time I checked he literally fought for Lana to release Ultraviolence against execs at Interscope?? They both had nothing but good thing to say about each other from that time period. Sometimes having a little bit of a challenge in the studio is good for you, not always having a yes man agreeing with your every decisions.
You're just pissed because Dan was actually able to create something Jack did not on NFR: an intricate, atmospheric and cohesive soundscape.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

after some thinking and some time i really do feel like NFR is an autumn album (contrary to most people's opinions  )

NFR - this is pretty seasonally neutral i guess, but i interpret it as an autumnal or even winter song; the horn (?) sound gives me december vibes for some reason, and the lack of percussion in the song makes it feel like a kinda "stay at home and cosy up" track as opposed to a "get dressed get ready and go out into the world to have fun" track
MAC - sometimes this feels like a summer song, but sometimes it gives me "sailing the stormy seas in cold weather" vibes
VB - okay now THIS is a summer song
FIILY - another obvious summer jam
DT - okay this is another summer song obviously
LS - kinda neutral, but the minimalism and emptiness of the track - particularly in the reverb on the piano notes during the verses - makes something about this song feel cold. but then the strings, for some reason, give me kind of a summer vibe.... so idk about this one
CG - during summer the song gives me warm vibes, during winter it gives me cold vibes   so idk
HTD - straight up sounds like a christmas song
California - this song defffff gives me sad, empty autumn feelings, nothing about it screams summertime to me, maybe it's something to do with the vocal style on the chorus?
TNBAR - despite the lyrics ("topanga's haaaaawt tonighttttt"), this song doesn't feel like summer at all; the windy echoing sounds at the start of the song lay down a chilly vibe that the minimal, spaced-out guitar then emphasises, the sounds that kick in during the pre-chorus sound almost like the beginning of a storm and the chorus (which i love btw) feels kind of... strangely empty and cold?? this a song i can only really listen to in the colder months
TG - this is another one that could kind of go either way, kinda neutral but right now it's feeling really appropriate for the more melancholic cold months. to me it doesn't really sound like summer, it sounds like missing summer.... if that makes sense
Bartender - this song sounds like the audible version of snowfall
HIAB - i do get slightly summery vibes from this track because of the subtle guitar and strings, but nothing major - piano ballads tend to remind me of fall in general
Hope - a sad, cosy autumn song no doubt

idk i mean i'm british so our summer is over pretty quickly and i vividly remember the day the album came out it rained heavily   so that's bound to colour my opinion somewhat, but yeah, idk i just can't view this a summer album like say HM or UV

COP cock gave it away. I wouldnt mind this album that way tho tbh. Tracklist seems nice. You got Upbeat songs like Yosemite, let me love u like a woman(probably).

Also she said shes done about 3 songs for the record...so that means none of the old songs will be featured ? I would like a short EP of Hey baby blue, IMBSFSH, Yosemite and Roses Bloom for you. Add in a bit of remastered A Star for Nick or All You Need. Or quite possibly a TGL OR LIB.
