Ok kinda glad I'm not the only one who isn't head over heals for Venice Bitch. It's a great song, sounds like a classic, and I always play it the whole way through, but it really has no effect on me??

The snippets are good, I don't know why people are being negative again... For me it sound like an Elvis record, I don't really get RHCP influence

It's amazing how BTD is still on the charts. Lana's released a lot of beautiful music over the years and it does well on the charts but then disappears. Not BTD. It's been like 8 years since BTD was released and it's still charting. Too bad UV or HM didn't get that same success.

Honeymoon is terribly underrated and underappreciated. BTD would be an overrated album, but HM is far from that. It's just that good. You can dislike it but objectively, the music quality is something else

I'm CONSTANTLY thinking about Lana "finding her people". Because I don't know if I'll ever find mine. I've never had any irl friends that share all my interests and I don't even know if such person exists and that makes me so sad. The person I am the closest to is my sister and she doesn't care batshit about Lana. I started stanning Lana partly because I couldn't stop finding similarities between her and me and that fascinated me, but I envy her so much for having this one thing that I don't have. It must be so nice to have someone willing to get nerdy af with you on extremely specific existential questions about fantasy novels as much as on unreleased songs producers. But such person other than me doesn't exist and it's just so sad. Lana is so lucky to have found her people.

okay after all of her shows this summer and these recent public appearances i've just been wondering...what happened to her nose? It looks like the curve is mostly gone and it just looks different (obviously it doesn't matter to me i'm just curious)

(One, two)
You don't ever have to
Be stronger than you really are
When you're lying in my arms
Baby, you don’t ever have to
Go faster than your fastest pace
Or faster than my fastest cars
I shouldn't have done it but I read it in your letter
You said to a friend that you wish you were doing better
I wanted to reach out, but I never said a thing
I shouldn't have done it but I read it in your letter
You said to a friend that you wish you were doing better
I wanted to call you, but I didn't say a thing
(Two, three, four)
Oh, I'll pick you up
If you come back to America
Just hit me up
'Cause this is crazy love
I’ll catch on the flipside
If you come back to California
You should just hit me up
We'll do whatever you want
Travel wherever, how far
We'll hit up all the old places
We'll have a party
We'll dance 'til dawn
I'll pick up all of your Vogues and all of your Rolling Stones
Your favorite liquor off the top-shelf
I'll throw a party
All night long
You don't ever have to
Be stronger than you really are
When you're lying in my arms
And honey, you don't ever have to
Act cooler than you think you should
You're brighter than the brightest stars
You're scared to win
Scared to lose
I've heard the war was over if you really choose
The one in and around you
You hate the heat
You got the blues
You're changing like the weather, oh, that's so like you
The Santa Ana moves you
(two, three, four)
Ooh, I'll pick you up
If you come back to America
Just hit me up
'Cause this is crazy love
I’ll catch you on the flipside
If you come back to California
You should just hit me up
We'll do whatever you want
Travel wherever, how far
We'll hit up all the old places
We'll have a party
We'll dance 'til dawn
I'll pick up all of your Vogues and all of your Rolling Stones
Your favorite liquor off the top-shelf
I'll throw a party
All night long
Oh, I'll pick you up
If you come back to America
Just hit me up
'Cause this is crazy love

If you come back to California
You should just hit me up

Took a trip to San Francisco, our friends said we would jive
Didn't work so I left for Fresno, it was quite a scenic drive
Pulled over to watch the children in the park
Used to only worry about them after dark
I'm still looking for my own version of America
One without the gun, where the flag can freely fly
No bombs in the sky, only fireworks when you and I collide
It's just a dream I had in mind
It's just a dream I had in mind
It's just a dream I had in mind
Took a flight to New York City, I missed that Hudson river line
Took the train back to Lake Placid, that's another space in time
We used to go in drive-ins and listen to the blues
So many things that I think twice about before I do
I'm still looking for my own version of America
One without the gun, where the flag can freely fly
No bombs in the sky, only fireworks when you and I collide
It's just a dream I had in mind
It's just a dream I had in mind
It's just a dream I had in mind
It's just a dream I had in mind

IMO she probably used Duke Nicholson because he resembles the guy she thought was full of himself?

I interpret it that way as well. Obviously “watery grave”, and I’m sure the “boat to Catalina” is a reference to Natalie Wood’s death! -

Where's the book? Didn't she said a while ago that it would come out with the album?

Every time an artist uses their special one on a music video or something like that I think it's an awful idea. Like imagine asking your boyfriend to be part of a MV and then you guys broke up and you'll have to endure the fact your ex will be part of your art forever an album cover would be even more extreme, like.............. no. Just no. I'm glad Lana didn't do it.
Now THAT'S a good idea, but since NFR is like a fuck you letter to guys who think they're a genius and too good I think it would be kinda awkward for Lana to ask Jack to play this character on the cover

The scariest thing to me is that each Lana era has been more drawn out than the last. Imagine what that would mean for her next album if there even will be one

Things change a lot in 3 years. Maybe it made her hate Cola. I don't really find it surprising if it's true she hates Paradise. The whole album was made because BTD was successful and I think she kinda lost herself in her fake Hollywood persona. Now she's probably not feeling good looking back at it
