Maybe they broke up because Sean doesn’t want children? He does have two grown children of his own, maybe he didn’t want to do the whole baby thing again and that’s what made the relationship not work. It seems they are on good terms with one another.

first of all, we are getting the subtext behind those posts bc we're all over every single intimate detail of lana's life (i very much doubt non stans are even picking up on the implications of what she posted) yet now we're acting like she's being uncouth bc she decided to show some vulnerability & make a more personal post? also, her own history aside, i think the written post was a rather nice one, telling people with complicated relationships with their mothers / motherhood that they're seen on a day that tends to forget about them.

Damn I truly don’t understand why y’all tripping on her post... lmao if anything I find comfort in it. Yes she has tons of viewers who see what she says or doesn’t say about her relationship with her mother but I for one have such a up and down relationship with my mom, hell I blame her for the hell ive been through but it doesn’t mean I don’t love her.. just means I’ve grown to with or without her .. I believe Patty was always too judgemental of lizzy and lizzy never felt her mothers love... doesn’t mean patty was physically absent but it’s clear her love was .. idk I just know it’s not easy having a mother who sees life in one way and one way only .. idk idk but don’t hate the girl when she’s just opening up with good intensions and white girl coping mechanisms

I'm gonna have to disagree here on both points. This might be horrible. It might be perfectly justified. We don't know. And until we know more, it's not our business. It's between them. It's personal. But more to the point, unless and until we find out that she has bullshit reasons for dissing her mom, it has no larger significance or real world impact on anyone else the way other bad things she's done arguably do, like say, intending to perform in Israel, making ignorant comments both when she doubled down on that and when she finally cancelled, dating a reality TV cop who has engaged in profiling and is a de facto apologist for the abusive policing practices of the status quo, appropriating indigenous culture, glorifying all manner of questionable shit, treating journalists just doing their jobs like shit often specifically for doing their jobs well, her lying in general, etc.

being told she was a chameleon soul was probably not a compliment. if she was told "she has an inner decisiveness as wide and as wavering as the ocean" and a "chameleon soul", she's being told she doesn't have a concrete sense of self. not really a compliment.

I don't feel that embarrassed feeling that some of you are feeling. I feel kinda proud for her. It's not easy to say you don't like your mom, it's very difficult to cut someone like that out of your life or even just distance yourself from them. she isn't perfect. she was probably well-meaning with her post about chosen family, but anger slipped through because it was looming so large in her. as someone who was abused by my mom, i feel very comforted by this post. it's incredibly hard to cut someone like that out of your life and i think a lot of times, people border on whether they should stay in the relationship or leave. i feel like she has probably been in limbo on whether cutting her mother out is the right choice to make and i think it has probably been very freeing and healing to say "ya know what, you hurt me, fuck you." i get that there are better times to do this, but with all the emotions she must be having, can we not accept that some people ARE still working on themselves. she might not be at a place mentally where she understands the impact of what she's doing. i think we can all agree she struggles with her mental health, and i think that's okay. let her struggle. let her make a mistake. if i got backlash like this every time i messed up or relapsed, i would never get better. she needs support. we can't attack every thing she does.

the only thing vaguely left-leaning about Lana is the fact that she's socially tolerant (as in, not bigoted re: LGBTQ people, probably pro-choice [edit: given her association with hillsong, who tf knows about her stance on abortion tho], etc.). she's textbook hollywood liberal ~socially liberal but fiscally conservative~ which pretty much makes her center right most anywhere except the clusterfuck that's the US political system.

she is NOT EVER a spokesperson for the 'government" nor a figure for you to pick apart when she doesn't make a public donation link. In FACT, she's been posting instagrams of small businesses & other individuals (like clairvoyants) who can also use business to feed themselves right now... 
for gods sake, she is not a freaking global ambassador, she is a freaking singer/songwriter who is absolutely contributing in ways many others are not (i.e. the ones singing a stupid imagine song or Ellen Degeneres laying off her previous dedicated staff to hire a third party staff to do her home shows)
 
she is a singer & an artist; with a generous spirit,,,, who has used her music to donate to charities & privately does so as well (not to mention the people she helps like giving food to the homeless at a gas station...) i'm so tired of people picking her apart for not doing "enough" when she does a lot and more than is required....
so cut the crap & go whine somewhere else while people are dying, or do something useful with your time & call your congressmen / women in your area to advocate for those of us not being helped and represented. 
(this is not an attack on you - im sure you're wonderful, but im tired of seeing comments that she isn't doing enough to help financially)

What can she do? There's nothing she can do that anyone else hasn't already. We don't need another thousand celebrities trying to tell us to stay home. We already know *yawn* it's getting tired and old at this point hearing every celebrity broken record each other
 
I'm glad she's been silent. It only means she's working on something, she does this every time she starts working on something. Who knows, it might be the next record that she's already teased a couple times or the book, etc. She's got her hands in a lot of projects right now. I'm doing the same thing she's probably doing -- staying home or close with a few family or friends and working overtime from home to have more stuff complete while there's nowhere to go or nothing to do. 

isn't it a little insensitive to assume stuff about someone we don't know at all? majority of the people on this forum haven't even seen her physically in the real life, let alone spoken to her and gotten to know her. you can't assume she doesn't know stuff about "real life", but what we do know is that for some time, she helped volunteer a lot while in college, including volunteer work on indian reservations. and also, for what we know, she lived in trailer park for a little less than a year, played music in clubs and bars, and lived a fairly normal life with regular people. she wasn't filthy rich, her parents are not billionares who are so rich they have lost their grasp of reality and real people. obviously people with affluence are more likely to be out of touch with lower class people, and at this time lana may be one of these people, but that does not mean she knows nothing about real life, it makes it sound like she has never had any struggles or hardships, which is not true, we know this.
