These are the songs that when they come on, you go “oh shit!” You blast the volume. These songs are that bitch. They stand out.

Please only pick one song per album.

I don't care if this album gets a 0 on metacritic I wouldn't trade it for anything
They just hate Lana being Lana. Every time they mention something about her "Lana" essence it's always a backhanded compliment  but their interest really made stacks

This album is already turning out to be polarizing in a sense. I get the same feeling from reading Blue Banisters reviews that I have when I've gone back and read reviews for Ultraviolence and Honeymoon. It's like Lana was first put in the "Born to Die" box, and then she was put into the "NFR" box (Lust for Life was kind of the middle ground between the two, in my opinion) and her stepping out of the box tends to lead to some not so great reviews. The people reviewing the record don't understand it at all.

Also, I don’t read music reviews at all really so idk if this is normal but… what is with the excessive descriptors? It’s really annoying me, somehow they list three adjectives in a row and yet manage to say nothing.. And no one seems to really digest and philosophize the content of her songs and the album as a whole, they just list some instruments and quote a random lyric, and any connections they make are surface level… I thot y’all had to go to school to get this job right??

I am disappointed that no reviewer has mentioned the lyrical complexities of Blue Banisters, Text Book, and Wildflower Wildfire. As far as I’m concerned, those three tracks are some of her best written.

I also think it’s strange that nobody has commented on the lyrical continuity throughout? The loose themes of motherhood and family lineage that run between the triple singles, Cherry Blossom, Living Legend, and (I assume, as I haven’t heard it yet) Sweet Carolina are definitely worthy of mention. How embarrassing that critics never seem to focus on the lyrical brilliance and autobiographical dive Lana takes, and instead focus on one-off lines that are meant to provoke and offer a bit of lightness. Context clues & reading between the lines as a listener serve you well!

MOST OF HER CRITICS ARE JUST NITPICKY BANDWAGON ASSHOLES W SMALL PERSPECTIVES WHO NEVER REALLY FOLLOWED OR DARED TO GRASP WHAT HER CAREER JOURNEY HAS REALLY BEEN ABOUT WHICH JUST DISPLAYS THE STALE SHIT QUALITY OF MOST MODERN JOURNALISM TODAY LITTLE DO THEY KNOW THAT THEY'RE PART OF THE ART FORM OF NFR'S SOCIETAL CAMP AND LANA'S KITSCH PLAYING THE ROLE OF UNAWARE EVER ECHOING LIVING BUT LESS THAN ALIVE ANTAGONISTS THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT STAY HAZY N LET THIS HEAVENLY WOMAN PASS U BY YA'LL DON'T DESERVE HER

That the entire album is a concept based upon a memory, text book is the most recent song that correlates to her life in terms of lyrics. Blue banisters is set in the present until jenny asks her how the hell she got on a john deere, when she starts reminiscing on her past and the rest of the lyrics in blue banisters are just a memory. Then the album goes on and it’s all set in the past and she’s reliving every song as it goes on. Then, by the time we get to Cherry Blossom, we’re back up to the present. And while she was reminiscing the whole time, time passed and now Sweet Carolina is the present.

This theory makes sense to me considering she said this album is what happened, why it happened, and how it is now….. it just took some piecing together
