The instrumentals are insane, the lyrics cool, the production really good, but way too acclaimed. It’s not even her best album (imo)
Thanks. Let’s take a moment to appreciate Honeymoon, the real masterpiece

I love UV so fucking much but people are obsessed with it and can't let it go. They do not realize it's lyrically her weakest album and simple towards the end. The first 5 songs including Old Money are what makes it stand out. other than that.....

Too bad the verses are some her best lyricism to date. Pretty When I Die and Sad Hoe can't relate. False equivalency here!

So this entire album (well, almost all of it) seems to me to be about Barrie; she still loves him, wants to be with him, wants to dance and party with him, wants him to "come back to America". Thinking about all the songs with this meaning sort of changes my interpretation of HIADT... the hope that she has and why it's so dangerous, is because after going through all her emotions through 1-13, she still ends it all hoping that they'll end up together, and part of her can't move on because of it, which is why that hope is dangerous, and why the album closes with that song and not Venice Beach (which everyone agrees would at least sonically be the better closer).

Hi I’m new here (please don’t hate me). I got tickets to see Lana in LA for my birthday and I am very excited. I hope everyone is having a magical day.

Man...lots of blink and you'll miss it fuckery this era, huh? Can Team Del Rey get it together? Like how did this even happen...? She must have decided to postpone the release at the literal last second.

Also, anyone putting MAC or HIADT after Doin' Time in their ranking is an uber clown.

Why is everyone so obsessed about NFR topping UV? The way I see it they are two different styles of work from two very different times in her career. Where is that comparison coming from?

I get that everyone has a favourite album, but the only correct favourite album is Honeymoon.

I don't think Lana is a racist, or that her critique of Kanye has anything to do with his race, but I can't with someone here really pulling the "she has lots of black friends!" card.

Anyways, the song wrecked me. I was expecting some simple love-lost shit, not some heart-wrenching decree about the hollowness she feels in today's world and in her life...
She may have fucked around for a year, but she is really about to come through with her best record...

IMO, she's not complaining about Kanye "being a thing still" but rather that he's lost his way. Definitely a dig at his support of Dump, and who Kanye's become artistically. She's not some old lady whining about hip hop, because we know she loves it. I think the "lit" line is a double entendre, the second meaning being that "the culture" is literally on fire. A lot of people she admired are dead and gone, or changed, the world is in ecological collapse, life is too fast paced, and people are more interested in watching their fave's livestreams than they are in worrying about anything real. She's had a good time, but she's done now. She's got no hope for the world.

But at it's core, I think it's just a song about heartbreak. It reads like her having a (possibly drunken?) breakdown. It begins with him being gone, that's the catalyst, and then it's her missing New York and the indie scene and being sick of fame, before it spirals into absolutely nothing about the world being right anymore.
