does anyone else find it a bit eerie that Lana's been seemingly prophesizing the end of the world with her last couple of albums? WTWWAWBWJKD, the "till it runs red, runs red with blood" line from BPBP, the title of TNC, and Get Free's intro lines (Finally, I'm crossing the threshold...) give me strong Apocalypse teas- oh and how could I forget the "Armageddon" line from White Mustang and the missile from its music video. Oh and Coachella being inspired by North Korea. Now we have the Greatest talking about the mass death of culture and (if the director of the video has any precedence w Love & White Mustang) we possibly will have an apocalyptic video coming soon to match the song. I mean I love Lana and her realism but like, is anyone else finding this a bit morbid? (I guess I should have known with her first album being titled Born to DIE)

Do you think Lana is done with writing lyrics about honoring past relationships which sound like pretty bad ones? I think the transition or her attitude/perception began with HBTB (the truth is I never bought into your bullshit when you would pay tribute to me // you could be a bad motherfucker, but that don’t make you a man) and continued with In my feelings (you’ve been wasting my time while you’ve taken what’s mine, well, I know what you’re doing) and NFR (goddamn, man child) and In your car (don’t be a jerk). And, also, her small comments on live performances makes me think this too (for example, “I think I’ll miss you forever - or maybe not”).
Maybe she’s really tried to change since 2015 and we haven’t really noticed until she released a song literally named Change, lol?

Can you stop for a second? I haven't seen any of your posts lately not being negative towards Lana. She looks beautiful. You seem to have big problems accepting that she's not the same as 2012 anymore...

it’s sad that people hate hope.. like her most vulnerable song and such and she put so much emotion into it. like damn. she put herself out there and she got dragged for it. very sad

It shooks me to my core how simply happy and healthy she looks in this pic. I'm fine with her not releasing music in a million years if she keeps being happy I just love her

okay like this makes sense... idk about the visuals part like special variants/box set etc, i think we might since she’s had so much time yknow? plus chuck said mac(? maybe it was one of the other vids but u get the point) was part of a bigger project. and with the rumor about the sublime tour bus thing, it could totally be for NFR, bc i think we all agree that a video for doin time doesn’t really make sense lol. but considering how she’s described the vibe of the album, i could totally see it being used in a video or shoot. but okay so like doin time and don’t call me angel being the songs she was talking about makes sense, especially with how you explained it. if 6 months from march is september, and she puts the poetry book out then, and she wants the poetry book out before the album, we could be looking at anywhere from sept-dec release for NFR. which makes sense, with her top of the (new?) year comment from earlier, it’s like.. the top of the year.. the end of it..u reached the top. so this has probably been the plan all along, and it just got messed up. i think mac/venice bitch very possibly could have been an unplanned release to distract from the israel thing and could’ve been meant for later or not at all bc of the artworks, maybe she just had to pick something to assign them quickly. whomb knows anyway though, i’m dumb and with lana anything is possible lol
edit: plus going by this suspected timeline doin time and don’t call me angel would make sense so she doesn’t have to do her own promo, maybe she worked it out that way on purpose. but my point is i don’t think the album has actually been delayed, she meant end of the year all along

Why are we still calling Lana “puta” can we drop that already? None of us have a right to keep calling her a “bitch” and it’s kind of really disrespectful? It’s just getting really old all the negativity from some of these threads it’s making me sick... I’ll prolly go on another week or two break from here honestly

Inb4 someone says “ShE’s DiSrEsPeCtEd Us FiRsT” no the fuck she didn’t. We’re all just impatient, nosy bastards who want to hear more more more... stan culture is getting old af

I think it's very much about her current life, about reflecting the past and still wanting to change. I think she'll reveal her inner thoughts in a honest way and just tell her listeners who she is. Which I think is very brave of her, because I think a lot of us don't want to be vulnerable or can tell someone we know that "no, I'm not ok actually" instead of automatically replying "I'm fine, how are you?", so I think this is why she described she songs as "deep, introspective, sad girl shit". I mean, I began to write down my thoughts in a notebook earlier this year and it's really hard, both to write the thoughts down and go back and read them again. It hurts.
Also, I think her poems really show us her inner monologues and thoughts. They're ordinary, not about anything in particular, and I think she was right to not wanting to call them as poems exactly - because they really look like just some random thought from a random moment. Maybe that's why I don't get them or like them in particular, I don't understand what she wants to say or why she wants to share them. Because her fans wants to read them? Maybe.
Anyway. I wouldn't expect to hear her sing about things she has sung in previous albums if I were you, I think she's really coming with something different this time while still being herself. I'm excited to hear the album.

--- Why I'm thinking NFR will be about everyday life, past memories and the will to change:
    - Her way of writing lyrics has changed. I think that many songs on this album are similar to the way she writes her poems - they're not neccessaarily painting an image or idea anymore or telling an interesting story (like Salvatore, OTTR, Florida Kilos, and even older ones like Boarding School, JFK, Gramma), she's simply writing her thoughts as they are right now in her life. And I think she's trying to be honest and straight forward to the person she's "talking" to: "there's things I wanna say to you", "I said, don't be a jerk, don't call me a taxi", "if you weren't mine I'd be jealous of your love", "goddamn, man child".
    - How To Disappear is very much remembering old memories, which isn't exactly new of her. You can even hear it in Hope ("... spilling my guts with the Bowery bums is the only love I've ever known"). But I'm thinking that maybe she's done looking back at old romances with rosy glasses and instead see them for what they mostly were, bad for her. I get this feeling from her live performances ("and it wasn't even that good!" about G-Easy's album, "'if I get a little prettier, can I be your baby?' - fuck that", "'I think I'll miss you forever' - haha, or maybe not")
    - Lana seems to want to change herself and her life. She meets new friends, she tries new things, she's finally doing things she's been wanting to do (writing poetry, taking flight lessons etc) and change is such an important thing to her right now, she even made a song about it and put it on LFL. Change doesn't come easily and I think she's still trying to become someone else, a better version of herself or a truer version. I think she wants to let go of her past and create a new life. "Fresh outta fucks forever", and also that her date thought she was just a sad girl ("you took my sadness out of context").

    For the music sweetie

The era is messy af, ok we all know that BUT bitch has released 4 amazing tracks since her last album and maybe even some collab I've forgotten about, she performed 3 other gorgeous songs live, one of which for a professional recording, and she is performing some of her current material on festivals

    so yeah I am grateful

Some fanbases (Godney's, Rihanna's) are left with absolutely no music for years
