The more albums that get released in 2020, the more it becomes clearer that Taylor is truly at the top of her game. She's miles ahead of everyone else sonically and lyrical--and tbh i think its because of her close relationship with her fans. She doesn't really write about her own celebrity-world troubles in her music, she writes them from the perspective of her average teenage fans, who share stories with her and she listens; and that's what makes her music so universally relatable. Not many of us can relate to living for cheering crowds, or overcoming the confusing world of celebrity--but we can all relate to love triangles, high school drama, drifting apart from our childhood friends, etc. etc. And that's why all her music has always been "folklore", bc it captures the common feelings of a group/subculture, and not just Taylor herself 

I have no idea if this thread has already been made or not (I searched and couldn’t find anything) but I was wondering if any gamers out there have played/enjoyed The Last of Us and the newly released Part II? It is honestly one of my all time favorite games and I spent a full 15 hours in a row pulling an all nighter to finish the 2nd game and I absolutely LOVE the way the story ended up going... there’s lots of controversy surrounding this 2nd title but honestly (aside from the creators having to “crunch” cause that’s fucked up in any game company) all the B.S. people give this game is so uncalled for. (I mean look at the difference between user/critic scored on MC)

It pains me to write this, but I have to let all of you know that I cannot make it to Sonic Temple in Columbus and Louder Than Life in Louisville this year. As part of my continuing effort to get and stay healthy, I have critical recovery events on those weekends that cannot be moved. My intent with this statement is saying “I apologize” to each one of you. The reality is that I have not prioritized my health in the past year of touring and I now know that my mental health comes first. That might sound like a no-brainer for most of you but I didn’t want to let the Metallica team/family down and, I alone completely compromised myself.
 
Looking on the brighter side, my therapy is going well. It was absolutely necessary for me to look after my mental, physical, and spiritual health.
 
I want to stress that the band will play all other announced 2020 shows.
 
I am looking forward to getting back to playing and seeing all our great South American fans in April. And, of course, playing the Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome To Rockville, in Daytona and Aftershock Festival in Sacramento. We will still play two unique sets at each of these festivals.
 
Beyond 2020, I am optimistic about the blessings I have been given and what the future brings. I appreciate all the great prayers and support from everyone since I went into rehab last September. Like the moth into the flame, being human in this career has its huge challenges and can be difficult. Your understanding helps the healing.

I just read this text, written by James Hetfield (lead singer of the band Metallica) about the cancellation of some shows... And it was inevitable not to think about Lana and the whole situation.
 
I am not saying that she should do like James and fully expose what is happening to her. But just a brief statement would be enough (After all, some fans are really concerned about her).
 
The different way of acting in these situations ends up showing who really cares and who doesn't (Unfortunately!).

maybe you have low standards when it comes to the professional artists you stan, but there's ways and ways to handle the cancellation of a tour in an entire continent, and hers so far has not only been disrespectful but also extremely unprofessional, so it's not surprising that fans are "butthurt". people, including me, had made plans around a concert date for months, lost airfare and accommodation money, not to mention the frustration of a last minute cancellation.
 
it's not like we're asking her to release medical records or personally apologize to every single fan, at this point most of us would probably be satisfied with a heartfelt ig post mentioning the cancellation - you know, literal bare minimum shit.

When fans say they don’t feel excited to see her shows or consider not going because they know it’ll be a lackluster, something has to change. I know we’re like one 1% of Lana’s fan base or something, but we’re some of the most dedicated stans, and if Lana and/or her management really lurk on this forum, I hope they see how fans feel about this and actually do something. Something is just wrong, it shouldn’t be like this. We began complaining about the pre-recorded back vocals in 2017 and if this continues, with Lana casually strolling around on stage with a half-eaten peach in her hand and only puts on a real show in LA, I’d start to worry about the upcoming shows/years if I were her managers.
 
This attitude her band members seem to have, that nothing needs to be changed because people will still come to the shows, that’s dangerous. They can only play so many shows before people who has seen them once or twice starts considering spending their money on other artists or things. There’ll always be fans out there who hasn’t seen her yet and will do anything to go if they get the chance and there will be stans who will go to every show, but some of us won’t go unless something changes.
 
I don’t know... I just don’t think this is good at all. And like all of you have already said, she really should’ve tweeted or made a post on IG that she’s sorry for canceling the shows on such a short notice. We’d still be mad about it, but at least it would’ve looked like she really cares.

I used my refunded money to book a holiday, I’m kinda glad it’s cancelled now. I’ve already seen her live before, and I know I would have witnessed a subpar performance anyway. I wish I wasn’t so easily upset, but the manner in which the cancellations were handled has put me off Lana completely

I think it’s safe to say that we are never getting a statement from her. I think she’s just gonna disappear for a month or however long and then resurface like nothing ever happened.

Na, she has corona for sure. She actually has been struggling with it since 2016, when she got it at her Corona capital concert.

A few days ago, Elton John (72 years old - in the buisness for over 50 years) was performing on stage with pneumonia. Pneu - fucking - monia. 
 
In the middle of the show, medical team jumped on stage, took his blood pressure and helped him. All this happening on stage in front off 100,000 people. 
 
He turned around on his piano and went back to playing. 
 

 
Sadly, Elton lost his voice entirely a few songs later and had to leave the stage. He was sobbing because he wanted to continue the show for his fans but he couldn't. Elton adores his fans.
That very night he went on instagram and left a heartfelt message apologizing to his fans. 
 

 
I'm all for Lana not touring until she is back to the way she use to be on stage back in 2012-2015, but the LEAST she can do is go on twitter or instagram and give a brief statement about the cancellations. This is beyond unprofessional. 
 
If a 72 year old man with pneumonia can do that, then so can she or have someone in her team post it for her on her social media on her behalf.

Well, he has gained almost 70,000 followers on IG since then... And many people didn't even know who he was before that.
Now, what he will do with it is a mystery. I read somewhere that he is affiliated with the Republican Party... Who knows, maybe run for a political office?

I wouldn't celebrate it (although Ultraviolence is my favorite album). Sorry! But good music at the expense of Lana's suffering doesn't seem fair to me...
I would prefer a thousand times to see her happy, writing bad songs, than suffering in an abusive relationship.
