Here, listening to this album for the 500th time, maybe. Few times I've felt so connected to a project, or to the voice on it. Maybe Lana gave us with Honeymoon one of the most sophisticated depictions of loneliness to ever exist.

I legit did some research after reading your post, LOL! She recorded the song in Dec 2013, about 5 months before she performed in Versailles, but Kanye had a band play "Young and Beautiful" when he proposed in October 2013, so he might've invited Lana shortly thereafter...if she knew she was going to Versailles while writing "Your Girl" she might've thrown in that line last-minute. I just want it to be true, LOL.

Venice bitch. Should have been the opening track and the title for the whole record

It’s more beautiful, and it would give the impression that the album is about Lana and not a man

as much as I want to think this will be like Burnt Norton, because yes its the bestest, there is a BIG difference between T S ELIOT'S poems and lana's poems

For me, Honeymoon had her peak vocals because it shown a great balance of her feeling laid back and almost singing in her natural voice, but also still maintaining her sultry, womanly, femme fatale deep cinematic DEL REY voice at the same time. There's a spark of mystery and delicacy in every note that she sings without trying too hard. Her NFR vocals do the exact same thing but shes completely stripped of her DEL REY character and its just Elizabeth singing, its very noticeable and probably a big reason why a lot of us feel as though NFR isnt a Lana Del Rey album, because well, it isnt. Honeymoon was in fact her last album regarding that persona. Lust for Life was the bridge between the two.

It is sort of sad when you think about it, but i couldnt think of a better ending for such a well crafted character than a record as grand and magnificent as Honeymoon was

the truth. i only feel sad because it clearly wasn't her plan for how everything went down. fxck lil troy boy carter for that. LG6 is seemingly going to be electronic anyway, so like with Joanne i hope she'll get to do what she wants with it properly and give us the experience we all deserve.

ARTPOP is Gaga's best work but I guess only few people with taste can accept this tea

Joe shilling, who people think Lana wrote htd about.  they had a low key fling but then he publicly roasted her and so all of Lana Stans attacked him and called him rat... then Lana sent a dm to a Lana fanpage saying something like "please tell everyone to leave Joe alone, they are sending rats"  ahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahha

    “Goddamn, manchild
You fucked me so good that I almost said I love you
    You’re fun and you’re wild
But you don’t know the half of the shit that you put me through”

I can’t put my finger on why but I absolutely loathe this set of lyrics. I’ve hated them since she first teased the title track in that crappy-filtered Insta video. This is what sis submitted for SOTY? This is the first lyric on the title track, the first lyric on the album? *eye roll*

"It was just that good (fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame)"
I won’t bother typing it out but the whole new chorus on TNBAR. It just feels so vapid, which is kinda sad considering TNBAR was a discography highlight (IMO) up until its final incarnation.

Just came across something really interesting. In the 2 hour long interview audio for Pitchfork in 2017, Lana mentions some political outtakes from Lust For Life and she talks about one particular saying it embodies the statement "war is over if you really want it". Makes me wonder if a very early version California was meant to be on LFL with drastically different lyrics or if she just recycled the lyrics. What do you think?

I know this is Norman discussion, but I'm kinda worried about the next album he he   Is Jack producing too?
I don't know why I don't like Norman so much. Folk, psychdelic or whatever are very appealing to me, idk what happened. I still listen to it, kind of forcing to make it grow in me   . I guess the closest and most relatable comment I found here is the lack of imagination one. I just can't visualize something entertaining in my head, even tho I really like the music.

I just wished I liked this album. I remember when Mariners came and then Venice and then HTD acoustic and Hope... I was so sure Norman would become my favorite back then...
I hope WHF brings back that "final push" each song has.

most people find the style she used in national anthem/ ride / tropico to be unsettling or over the top

and now Lana is more and more like most people

she is moving towards the happy and simple. which isn't bad but it is distinct from her older stuff. mostly I think that Lana doesn't take things as seriously as she did when she was younger, when she was more idealistic and passionate about extreme artistic expression

I Stan the first 2 parts. the nfr part was my favorite visuals of the whole era. I feel like I understand and appreciate bartender a million times more. happiness is a butterfly.... best song worst video, the injustice is sickening..

lana was acting so teenagery, it was so cute to see but kind of bizarre for some reason

if I was not a fan and I saw these videos, id think Lana Del Rey is a girl band of Lana and those two dancers...

I don't like how I have to actively look away from the  eyes of that one dancer (idk which is which) to enjoy it though
also, incoming "Lana is so white privilege she's making videos about throwing food at cops and laughing, while dating one, when police brutality is...." I couldn't stop thinking about how lanaboards members were gonna be so pissed lol

Lana must really love that backup singer as a friend to keep her in the video despite her ummmm... strong facial expressions and body language

lana and one dancer are there being cute and girly and cool

and then the third girl is looking at everything like she's me aged 14 desperately trying to look aggressive and sexy for the first time but ummmm not being very subtle at all
