    In Summer Bummer :
    Hip-hop in the summer
    Don't be Obama, babe

(Instead of "Don't be a bummer, babe". )

I always hear it even though I've always known it was bummer.

I think the cover is very fitting and I'm happy she fed us with a snippet and cover and didn't give us another random date or stay silent like she used to do. That's a big improvement.

New single coming so I'm pretty sure we'll never get a full Blue Banisters video, it might not exist at all.
It kind of gives credit to my theory that it was unused footages from a canceled Let Me Love You Like A Woman video that was turned into the Jimmy Fallon performance.
Anybody feels like editing a full music video for LLYLAW with that in mind ?

This poor song has no moment to shine on NFR, and its truly one of her best - in either form.

    Its true
all the roads lead to u
like the 405 i drive through
    every night and every day

It is coming right after California, so I don't think the lyrics are random. If you look at it in that perspective it adds a lot more meaning to the song.

California: We'll have a party, we'll dance 'til dawn/I'll throw a party all night long
TNBAR: Whatever's on tonight, I just wanna party with you

So many of her songs - especially on the best album of all time MAGDALENE - are repetitive lyrically, the same thing 'over and over again'. That is a fact.

I'm not saying you can't dislike the song - IDC personally, cuz I love it haha - but do you really think a song with that production and those melodies and that subject matter is "lacking life" or "insipid" or "dull"?

Good To Love got similar reception, IIRC, for being a little more mainstream or 'normal' for what she normally released. I'm not saying DJM is her best song - I, too, would rank it at the bottom of her discog - but it being "disappointing" because twigs has such high standards and "vapid" are two very different things (IMO).

I don't understand all the Jack hate here.

People saying he can only produce snoozefest haven't heard this :

Plus the background singers (see also: Melting of the sun) give me Thunder and Summertime vibes. Hope he'll do something similar with Lana cause it works well for her as well.

I agree that COCC and NFR have similar sound but it has to be intentional (COCC sampling NFR is an obvious hint). Jack is otherwise very versatile. Can you really the following sound the same ? :
    - Lana's sisters albums COCC and NFR
    - Lorde's Melodrama
    - St Vicent's Masseduction
    - St Vicent's Daddy's Home (from what we've heard so far)

Remember Lana produced an album like Honeymoon before and Video Games whitch is her breakthrough was a piano ballad. COCC wasn't surprising at all in that regard.

That being said, withJack being the producer or not, I would fancy some ultraviolencish revange album with fire.
If we get a slow album and it's as good as COCC I will still love her tough.

Fanbase name is stupid but let's admit that this is fun !

Reycists ? After the question for the culture controversy, we need to avoid this one
I think Lipster is hilarous, and I believe I've seen it in articles about Lana.

I always believed we are the Kids from Love Lyrics.

Oh, and what about COOC Teasers ?

    It would be a dream.

She has enough material to make a complete edition of each album in addition to unpublished photo sessions, videos that she did not release, anecdotes, documentaries, interviews, newspapers, goodies, texts... And the list is long as she is an artist with so many possibilities, she could put out anything that it would be interesting to explore, especially in these iconic eras

She often says that Born to die is her baby and has a very special affection for this record, she will inevitably refer to it next year. It remains to be seen if she will be in the mood for a reissue, she goes through the projects at full speed and does not really land, so go back to an old album to refine it I do not know if she will.
Which would be a missed opportunity, yes.

I hope at least a documentary made by her relatives or by her even if she does not do the rest

Well actually she looks just like she does in the the Let Me Love You Like A Woman performance on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon".

Someone mentioned how she's not lipsyncing in the Blue Bannister video and that it might be reused footage. What if there was an original LMLYLAW that for some reason she ditched in profit of the homemade one. She might then have reused the footage from the abandoned video (like she kept those were she sings for Jimmy fallon, and the other ones for Blue Bannister). We all know that the performance is not a performance. She's lipsyncing and that's something that she doesn't usually do.

That would definitely make sense. Even though I love those footage more than what we got in the official LMLYLAW video, I think the vibe is too dark for the song. Seing the result of the original video, she might have decided that she needed something lighter that included her sisters rather than a tragic love story. LMLYLAW does implies a possible separation, but that's definitely not the point of the song, it's more about the freedom of moving on to a new place, and enjoying a relationship while it lasts.

EDIT : There's one flaw in my theory. She's blonde in the official LMLYLAW so it might be anterior to those footages. But we never know, maybe she shot this before quarantine when her hair was dark. Or maybe those homemade footages where made for fun before the official video but she still choose to keep it because she wasn't satisfied by the professional ones she made afterwards.

Her revenge is probably making music that reflects her most vulnerable side without giving a damn about how the media may paint her as a fragile woman who sings about abusive relationships
