Part of me fears that RCS won’t get the promo it deserves. Now that the pandemic is at the tail end, a lot of big name artists are slated to release (Lorde, Adele, Billie?)

Not that Lana cares as much about promo as others, but it would be hard to get her “revenge” across.

So it’s either coming soon before other artists race to get their stuff out or it will be pushed back.

Idk if this has been mentioned yet, but w Lana singing about children's pools and having coffee at the school in chemtrails, do you think she's singing about her sobriety?
AA meetings typically meet at elementary schools/pools and public places like that

I KNEW jack was holding Lana back I KNEW IT. The way she had to do the bare minimum for TWO albums cus he was scared of taking risks, and to think we could've been getting heavy drums and electric guitar masterpieces this whole time but instead we got tinny piano songs with no punch and no bass for a solid 3 years straight 3 YEARS STR8..
JACK SUCKS JACK SUCKS JACK SUCKS JACK SUCKS JACK SUCKSSS

I ran the article [poorly] through Google Translate in the Rolling Stone thread, but here are the two biggest takeaways:

Most recently I wrote an eleven minute poem.  It's called "My Father Told Me If I Went Slowly, I'd Be Safe - But He Was Wrong".

What instructions did you give your producer Jack Antonoff particularly often?  "Let yourself go!" "Be wilder!"  “More twists at the end of the songs!” And whenever I got stuck, I asked him about chord progressions I could sing on.

i’m more excited for this than any other upcoming project she has.

fewer expectations, less press, but more insights into the inner Lana.

I feel like the institutions she would talk about in this book- the music industry/Grammys, her time in boarding school, rehab, Princess Diana?

I think this is my main issue with COCC, and it might be a result of Jack and Lana not having much studio time together. I think Dark But Just A Game is probably the most poignant song production-wise because it's so unique and, dare I say, somewhat experimental. But yeah COCC lacks instrumental climaxes and it's weird to think but I think the best part of COCC, sound-wise, is Lana's vocals.
It's odd but exciting because I feel like her vocals have never really shone in most of her other albums, and sometimes inhibited the appeal of her early albums imo, but on COCC there are so many wonderful harmonies and she does new things with her voice like the breathy falsetto on White Dress, the belt on Dance Till We Die, and I already mentioned harmonies but I can't not draw attention to the layering on Wild At Heart and 'it's beautiful, how this deep normality ...'
Hopefully Rock Candy Sweet will continue the vocal experimentation but with some slightly more interesting instrumentals. I think this combined with her lyrics which have been wildly improving could make her best album yet!!

The verses on Wild at Heart make me sad we will probably never see Stupid for being so happy and hey blue baby on record, that song (particularly the verses) really remind me of those two. They have such an infectious sweetness to them.
