Ugh Wildflower Wildfire.. this is truly one of her best songs ever. This is not up for debate, it's just factual. It contains some of her best lyrics, vocals, and the melody... I feel this song will still end up as my favourite from the record even though the other songs I've heard have been absolutely top tier, I just love this one so much. I really, really hope she performs it live one day.. I can just imagine her in the dark venue in complete silence singing this song from her heart x

The fact that she literally said "what if someone had asked Picasso not to be sad, didn't know who he was or the man he'd become, there would be no blue PERIODT" i felt that

WOWOWOW!! A screamer for sure, but I LOVE IT!! I love her super raw vocals like this. I always have. I've been waiiiiting for a song like this where she just completely lets it all out, and this did NOT disappoint!! And the sultry lil outro?? Incredible!! I can't wait to scream this song alone in a dark room, drunk in spirit, spilling it all out there with her

    YOUR POST

but specifically this!! I’m prepping for the album tomorrow by re-listening to all of her work in chronological order and it makes me feel a certain way when I get to Paradise and “Yayo” saying “let me put on a show for you daddy” versus how BB opens????

”I guess you can call it text book
I was searching for the father I wanted back”

ITS REFLECTIVE AND EVOCATIVE OF HER PREVIOUS BODY OF WORK. I keep finding parallels between the released songs of BB and her previous albums and it’s just so much

One of my favorite lines on the album. It's so simple, but it is so evocative of Lana's essence

I wasn't completely won over by Blue Banisters upon first listen, but I've listened to it in its entirety several times now- on one long 400km stretch of a highway from 11pm to 3am, by the river under the setting sun walking on top of yellowing leaves, in hot baths until the water turned cool, in the morning as background music to watering my plants and taking care of my bird and just doing silly little mundane things... Somewhere along the way, something clicked. This album is something very special. I will admit it doesn't have the raw, lustful passion of UV, dripping in anger and sex and cheeky recklessness, AKA's drugged out, suicidal haze, or the carefully crafted ever-blue dramatic orchestration of Honeymoon (my favourite Lana albums), but it feels so subtly powerful. It feels like an exhausted and lived woman's recollection of her life. It feels like catharsis, like accepting the baggage and pain of the past and the grace and peace of shedding the anger of the cruelty against her and finally understanding why things are the way they are and one's place in the world. It's not a "happy" album- it's Lana accepting that some parts of her will always be broken, there will always be the stain of her mother's disdain, she will always yearn for horrible lovers and for an idealistic world she can never quite reach, and yet finding happiness despite all of that, in her little home, her little family, in the temporary experiences with every new lover, and her art. In living life as a decent person and just doing what makes her happy.

I don't know- it just feels like her truest work (other than Violets), her first truly autobiographical piece of art from start to finish. I love Born to Die so much, but I think any longtime fan can agree it was mostly a dreamed up world as most of Lana's massive unreleased catalogue is, and every album after that started to shed more and more of the fantasy and instead reflect the intricacies of her true world, and BB is the pinnacle of that. This whole release cycle, along with the beautiful BB video (no storyline and yet so incredibly revealing and shockingly personal) and her withdrawing from the public as well as her Honeymoon posts (signing off as L/E made me shit myself)... again, we're witnessing something really special. It just feels so human, when Lana and her world for so long felt so otherworldly and alien. This is an incredibly honest and vulnerable moment in her discography, and I'm not sure we'll reach a place like this with her for another long while.

Overall, certainly one of my favourite Lana albums. I'm very proud of her and feeling very sentimental.

I honestly don't think NFR is a safe album at all and I'll never understand why people think so. A slightly softer sound on the surface does not make it safe, it's a deeply complex project and absolutely as brilliant as people say.

Anyways, Blue Banisters is also brilliantIt further explains her as an artist and a person and I really hope people take the time to absorb it fully

But why is it that people like you and Sportcruiser are piling on me for what I wrote to Mer - which contained no profanity or name-calling whatsoever - and yet there you are overlooking posts by May calling people cunts and stuff?
What's with the selective pearl clutching?
Not one other person has called out May for their repeated rude remarks yet what I said has had about 25 posts written about it
    Fascinating

Nah ya'll brown-nosers need to leave @Rorman Nockwell alone. If anyone on this god forsaken forum has any balls, it's them. I remember making a comment not long ago about how some people here are quick to jump on the 'let's get this user!' mentality without considering the facts. Secretly a lot of you love to do it, which ultimately doesn't make you the better person. A lot of you also need to evaluate why you can't let others have a different opinion from your own. It seems like that black and white mentality is strong in a lot of you - and it isn't pretty one bit!

You literally went out of your way to use a poster’s personal life against him under the name of a good jest. It’s not the first time I’ve seen you do that to multiple different users on here and it’s just exhausting to skim through a thread in which you attack and offend other people then dismiss their feelings or complaints because you’re either kidding or the other person should grow a thicker skin. That’s the literal definition of gaslighting and it’s very saddening that some rando on a Lana forum has to elaborate on that for you.

Also, there’s no “you always call me out” here. This isn’t personal. I’ve addressed this issue with you only once and in far more subtle and less abrasive terms. I was met with indifference and a refusal to even talk about the issue. After that, I talked to you nicely about Lana’s discography. So this isn’t me targeting you or something of that nature. I’m just growing weary of your constant passive-aggressiveness and your refusal to address it when confronted about it. I’ve been a long time lurker here and I have yet to see you owning up your missteps - you go straight to the name-calling. No nuance, no room for improvement, no nothing. You can dish it out to other people and lecture them about what they can or cannot say or do but when called out, you completely refuse to even be polite. It’s quite frankly the equivalent to debating with someone on Reddit - to no avail.

Do as you please, either way. I won’t bother addressing you in the future.

Totally. Going out of their way to come at someone unprovoked for merely telling it like it is, calling them an ugly freak and all…oh wait
