I think because before LFL / NFR we were never used to snippets and how to savor them, my subconscious is trying to preserve this album for me.
BELIEVE ME, the TJF snippet is quietly playing on a loop in the back of my mind all day everyday, but I don't want to physically listen to it until we have the full song. Its like clicking a lot easier than the last album cycle.  and tbh I couldn't be more proud of us, thats GROWTH

@vodkaa once said that White Hot Forever gave them Saturday Night Fever by the Bee Gees vibes - someone else said that the “it’s so damn hot tonight / take the sadness out of Saturday night” lyrics could be part of White Hot Forever so maybe that’s a reference to the Bee Gees?
 
Lana referenced a lot of Laurel Canyon on NFR and there are definitely tinges of that sound on the record. Maybe that’s indicating a more upbeat ‘70s sound on this album? Like some wah-wah guitars, synthy-strings, and beats with more complex rhythms?
 
I also think @RormanNockwell’s theory about the Saturday night lyrics referencing her SNL performance in 2012 is very likely. In fact, if it’s part of White Hot Forever, then maybe that song is about a relationship but also about how singing and songwriting is her “white-hot forever” - in that she’s so passionate about it and it truly is intrinsic to her, even when there is discouragement from the media, etc. It could explain why that was the album title at one point - it could’ve been her looking back on the start of her success while summing up her career and making personal declarations for herself! 

Imagine debuting at 26 25 with an album like Born to Die and shaking the industry to its core whew... not everybody has that

My expectations for visual for this era are at pretty much zero, because of the pandemic. Give me an ok cover and maybe one cute video and I’ll call it a day. 

It's funny how even when she does what we want (talk about her music), it's not exactly what we were expecting. 

women are amazing in every job field, especially music. their work is so personal and beautiful, empowering, grand, and their works are like their children so they're all mothers of some sort i think that's beautiful and i love every woman in the music industry, especially lana, taylor, lorde, marina and melanie. they're just so special and need to be protected at all costs.
 
anyway back to cocc. preorder next week or 2 days before the release date 

women have always ran the music industry, society just fails to recognize that. Men have good voices too but not compared to women who have fantastic voices. 
Nicki, Cardi, Kehlani, Jorja, Doja, Lana, Marina, Ari, Taylor, Selena, Dua, Summer Walker, Iggy, Charli and so many other women have been running the game for so many years in this modern age.

love or hate the women or music in that post, compare them all you want - but damn, women in music are so talented and powerful. for the past two or so years i would argue women in popular music have been running shit and only up themselves time after time. they really run the industry. no man could have the impact in the music industry that woman have had.
gays really won this year. and we’re still yet to see some amazing albums.

In the meantime, you can preorder the album with a new song out now. Music video for TJF is also out now. The trailer is coming in a few days
