We got all first tracks first. Only Cruel World and NFR were an exception.

When the Beach Boys were working on Pet Sounds, their label needed an album out for the holidays, but Brian Wilson refused to rush his masterpiece, so they had to quickly put together something else. So they recorded an unplugged cover album, then brought some friends in to record talking and giggling and stuff to add to the tracks, took some pictures playing at the beach, and quickly put together “Beach Boys Party!” in time for the holidays. When Lana first mentioned the idea of “Pacific Blue”, I had brought up how I wished Lana would do something like what The Beach Boys did, but that she probably wouldn’t..... I just remembered that now and realized that now she’s doing exactly that...... freaky

How are the reviews looking? I'm really nervous after the acclaimed NFR 

as much as i do want big visuals for this era, we already know that's coming for the title track - so im cool with a homemade video for this track since the video hasn't been majorly teased or anything, its just a bonus

Yall I just listened with headphones for the first time and wow. Its truly an experience. The reverb on her backing vocals when she sings “Let me love you like a woman” and then the clean fronting vocals on “let me hold you like a baby” is so good. And the drum, so simply, yet such a small impact that the song doesn’t sound or feel empty. I bet this is the second to last song on the record leading into something else before the end of the album. Ughhhhhhhhhh so fucking good I love it

It's beautiful! I love the vocal layering, and the bridge & the final lines are the highlights of the song. Miss Del Rey with her stunning bridges is back!! x

I, for one, love the lyrics and the story-telling format they follow, kinda reminds me to a lot of 60s and 70s artists and their lyrical structure (Joni Mitchell, Patti Smith, Simon and Garfunkel...)

I don't think these two contradict each other at all. She's even saying how she's not forcing him to follow him out of LA ("I think I'd manage"), and I interpret the "I need you to come/want you to come" as her telling him she wants him to come but she'll manage without, and her inner dialogue saying she needs him but she's not going to pressure him. It's quite a comforting song imo, she's in love with him and needs him but she won't pressure him or force him to do anything.
 
BTD era would have her singing about how she'd literally die without him and she needs him to stay with her, now she's feeling the same but she doesn't tell him that because she's loving him like a woman, not a young girl.

C'mon today has to be the day. If the album is really coming soon they can't stay another week without announcing anything. I have hope cause we know the video is coming and she said "more to come" 

The fact that we haven’t heard ANYTHING really from this album is so excitingggggg

truly TRULY excited for this album

Oh man, we’re losing it, this whole situation is like a mirage 

Just the thought of her being on another US show that’s typically live (or similar to SNL) feels like a real full circle moment.  Like the culmination of everything she’s built up since people tried to tear her down when she first came out. I could def see her using it as an opportunity to express that further in addition to her insta posts and the interview with Jack. I think it could be like a really cathartic moment for her and a great moment for us as fans too. 
 
I may be feeling too deeply about it but that’s kind of the vibe I get around it. 

please have Lana perform and also sit down as a guest and chat with him about her life, her artistic process, etc it would be so satisfying to see!!!
