I ABSOLUTELY LOVE EVERYTHING ON THIS ALBUM except the horrendous censoring of “MOTHER****” on Fingertips. Girl. Let it out.

Grandfather is another incredible power building with an incredible build. Her vocals just soar in this song. It makes you feel like you're flying just listening to it. This is another one with a bit of a nostalgia factor to me, as it reminds me to the music I listened to prior to discovering Lana in 2012 - Jem, Regina Spektor, Inara George, etc.. that indie/folk/alt-pop combo that I still adore so much. The intro and outro line... incredible. I love this one so much too. Ugh. Every song is my favourite. How on earth am I going to decide how to rank the tracks??
Now onto Let The Light In, which I had such fun shimmying & swaying to at the listening party.. x

When she scraps the music video and reuses it for the most boring song on her next record and it looks completely out of context

One of the better tracks on the album, so i'm down, but not having a A&W video is a real missed opportunity.

Lana Del Rey filmed a video for Candy Necklace directed by Rich Lee.
He previously directed videos for her songs Love, Lust for Life, White Mustang, Fuck it I Love You/The Greatest, and Doin’ Time.

As a fan of her music since her MySpace days, it's ugly to witness how her work ethic went to trash after doing drugs and being with Zachary Cole.

She used to be so prolific, recording music very often, being many producers, aute couture and photographers darling...

It's not hard to tell what happened and everyone around her (including Elton John, many musician peers of her same age and sex, and Capitol) gave up on her.

It's a real shame what happened to her, drug addiction is like being trapped in your own personal hell, and sadly she keeps blaming everyone around her but herself.

It's not only the lack of music releases, but the disrespect she gives to her fans and audience when she gets on stage VERY late, late for events and interviews, lack of clear information of her situation.

Poor Sky, I pity her and I pity her blind stans even more.

I still wish the best for her, as someone who struggles with drug craving from time to time, I understand how awful it is and how deeply it affects your emotions, your mind, your lack of motivations and energy.

So do we consider Fingertips Leaked Version to be a demo? Or a different mix? Then there has to be an uncensored version of A&W where she says "Got a cop"

That twinkling sound was weird, to censor it like that. I mean, cool I guess but it's strange that she ended up leaving in a full first and last name but censored the word "mother" instead. Just strange choices lol

Kintsugi is another beautifully delicate track. Her voice in this one is so sweet and youthful, which I think matches beautifully with its meaning. I think the sentiment of this one is really important - sometimes you really have to fall apart to build yourself back together again to a better version of what you are before. This is something I've experienced time & time over, and I come out stronger and more resilient each time. I think this is a message a lot of people will be able to relate to and learn from.
Now Fingertips.. a heavy one.. x

when i look back, tracing fingertips over plastic bags, i think i wish i could extrapolate some small intention, or maybe get your attention for a minute or two.
i just love how melodic this is – the consonance of “t” and “s” in “tracing fingertips over plastic”, the repetition of “i” in “i think i wish i could”, the alliteration in “some small”, the rhyme in “intention” and “attention”, the slant rhyme in “back” and “bags”. it’s a beautiful sentence to read out loud and highlights lana’s natural sense of poeticism.

judah interlude feels very much ironic to me. it feels like in context of the album she’s criticizing the church. i don’t know, maybe it’s the dark instrumental tone, but it just feels so right.

I shared it here before in more detail during the Pre-Release, but I formed such a core memory with the title track that I'll always carry with me. In short, I gained the news of three deaths within 24 hours just days after the song's release, one of which being my dear friend Candy that I had met through the Lana community that passed on the day of the song's release, a man in a car accident I was stuck behind in an Uber with my girl while we were blasting this song on repeat waiting for the traffic to clear, and the death of my friend's husband when I signed onto Facebook for the first time in years to attend Candy's livestream funeral. It was very overwhelming, and re-listening to this song floods me with the same emotions I had within that 24-hour span. I felt like those 3 people were very clearly trying to tell me not to forget them before I even knew they were gone. Their message was received loud and clear, and I'll never forget hour span. I'll always think of those three while listening to this song. Such an emotive song.
Onto Sweet, my first new track from the record!! (aside from my initial listening party listen) x
