I actually like the Lust for Life album ...Idk sometimes I need the less dark & upbeat sound

venice bitch is not even that good. the long ass instrumental is the worst, it just has some random instruments that dont even make sense (the annoying ass synth) and lana saying yaaaa aaaa yeah yaaaa. the only good part is the electric guitar. Jack cant play instruments for shit

Breaking My Heart vs Swan Song

Just re-listened to the Tulsa Jesus Freak snippet and i noticed there's a trap beat in it,  so I'd assume this album will have a more contemporary sound to it with some trap and hip hop influences

She NEEDS to do more songs like Freak and Cherry oh my fucking gosh the beauty of the trap beats and guitars. Also, just rewatched the Freak video and is that Pure Heroine on the record player?

to me this sounds like a mix of freak/art deco.+ cinnamon girl and i am LIVING for this sound. i see a mix of all of her past sounds and i’m not complaining.

From the very small, live snippet that we have of Yosemite it sounds like it could be nice.
 
But I truly pray that we will get RBFY one day. That song sounds like it could be a career highlight for Lana. It’s gorgeous.

She is still gonna be as poetic as NFR..but the production is gonna be like MELODRAMA. we can see her going back to reverb and autotune. Layers.

Chemtrails Over The Country Club vs Yayo (AKA Version)

This is a hot take I don’t hear super often!!
 
While I personally prefer the piano version for that specific track because it seemed to pair well with the wistful message, I still think the studio instrumental is really interesting. 
 
The mellotron in the studio version has this very hazy, melting(?) quality that I think would sounds really fucking cool on a “trippy” track, and I wouldn’t mind her exploring this more experimental sound more!

At some point in the future, I really hope Lana dives headfirst into a really specific and experimental genre & maintains it throughout the entirety of the record (even if it’s not my initial personal preference). 
 
I think this is why Honeymoon and Ultraviolence are lauded for both their originality and cohesion but produce polarizing opinions among her listeners and critics. These genre-heavy sounds are often growers but showcase her ability to adopt & complement a soundscape with her own artistry. 
 
UV, HM, and NFR are practically equal in my eyes, but personal (and very subjective) wish for her last record was that it would have a more..readily recognizable(?) sound. Idk if this makes sense but maybe someone gets it
