When a new Lana song leaks or an album comes out I'm always so eager to write music. Also her poetry inspires my a lot I usually find myself in places where in my mind I feel like: 'it's just not going the way.. that I thought' or 'but it wasn't just a dream.. we were just  happy'. Other then Lana nomen est omen Muse is a band that when I listen to I feel like they're making some show-stopping stuff.
And wisdom! When I feel like I understood something in life it inspires me to write and I feel like I want to put it in a jewelry box created in a mindful way and sealed down. Unfurtunatelly it doesn't always happen but it feels so good to write a song about a feeling or whatever that's been shaping in my mind for years. So I don't get inspiration by artists only but by life itself.
But as J.K. Rowling said if you wanna be a good writer you should read books, I also get filled when I don't just improvise but play more complicated music on the piano like Bach.
Other then these I get inspiration by some other works of art then music like a friend's painting, architecture or a strong sentence said by someone.

For me rn it's Lana. It's like I said before, I have lots of daily struggles with myself and with bad habits and relationships. I'm also very emotional, romantic (not only in a romantic/love way), wild and a escapist. I relate a lot to her lyrics sometimes and also the mood of the songs. They inspire me to take a look at my life and see what's wrong and also make me confortable with myself. What is/are this artist for you?

Still would be SHOCKED if Del Norte County materializes as a real title. While it is obviously an incredible title, I feel like it was utterly concocted in Lanaboards Labs from 3 letters and a wave. Not only was that wild guess correct, but it happened to be the title of the lead single??

DragonWhore said Del Norte County would be released in July (I guess it’s the name of the lead and not the album). If she hasn’t started teasing it in June or if there isn’t anything else album-related in that month, I am not expecting DNC in July, to be honest.

Four songs that I keep playing these days:

    1. t.A.T.u. - Stars: This is a very magical, atmospheric song, I really like it.
    2. Alexandra Savior - Crying All The Time: I discovered this gem so late, so I keep playing to make up for the lost time.
    3. Robbie Williams - Love Supreme: I came across this song years later and for the past few days wake up with it playing in my head. The lyrics really speak to me around this time.
    4. Lana Del Rey - Cult Leader: It's like watching a long-lost short film.  I can't really put my finger on how she is able to capture such eerie, atmospheric vibe.

wow he is so in love with her. I found these poems from 2015 that I think are about lana  ( I WANT TO PUT THEM IN SPOILERS BUT IDK HOW:/ )

1 (definitely about lana, marked "for LDR"

2 (marked "for LG" -  Lizzy Grant?)

3 (note the part about being a trapeze artist and not a poet. doesn't she call herself a trapeze artist in one of her old myspace descriptions?)

4 (FROM MAY 23 THIS YEAR RIGHT AFTER LANAS CONTROVERSY!!!!)

did you ever post that megapost somewhere, maybe in the lanalysis thread?

he just posted another poem after being MIA for almost a year and what with her poetry book being released soon, i wonder if he's still an inspiration for her or someone who had any input on her poems

EDIT: also, check the editorial reviews section of his novel & the book cover

Omg, I never heard about this. I have chills down my spine, I learn a bit more on Lana everyday. It's one of my favourite old tweets of hers so I'm happy to hear the backstory

it seems that the poems he has tagged as "a la muse" are the ones inspired by lana: http://disembodiedpoetics.com/category/poetry/a-la-muse-poetry. in this one he refers to her as his "muse"

one of her tweets which is from one of his pieces

this similarity is interesting: in this 2009 piece, he says "my compass points in all directions at once and i follow in pieces. i am true west", which reminded me of the ride monologue and "no moral compass pointing me due north" line

the find that made me say holy shït: in this post, he writes this - '“I hope millions of people read your writing, it’s so damn good.” – Lana Del Rey, Multi-platinum recording artist (Interscope)', and includes this quote on the front cover of the book, which you can buy a copy of if you wanna

So glad I made this topic.. I should've known evil already has a post about this, haha!! Please share! I really didn't think any of you guys would be that interested in this but I'm happy you are
Also, the poems are so heavily inspired by Lizzy, I love them. If you're always wanting more of her old stuff, I'd definitely suggest reading them. Some seems like it could be her lyrics. Love you guys xx

I stumbled on this about two and a half years ago and have a ridiculously long and almost creepily thorough megapost detailing all of this I need to finish editing. They're poems written about her by an online admirer/acquaintance of hers named Chris Cole. Although he was clearly smitten with her, it doesn't appear they were ever more than friends. I've been in contact with him and will post more about this after following up on one thing with him.

Edit: At the time I also looked into the question of who inspired who, and except for the possibility that he may have introduced her to Walt Whitman's poem "I Sing the Body Electric", and perhaps the Arthur/Marilyn theme from "Puppy Love", it appears her lyrics and DIY videos predate all his references to them.

It's weird, isn't it? Part of me thinks it's just some random blog she liked, but she tweeted references to these poems for 2/3 yrs. It's almost hard to tell whether these poems were inspired by her music or she was inspired by the poems. Did she ever go by Liz, or was that just a red herring? I'm trying to contact the poet himself to see if they knew each other xx

and the connection with "you say as a child (Young & Beautiful) you dreamt of a life in eden (Gods & Monsters)" and "you are the garden and always have been."

So I was browsing through a ton of Lana's old tweets and I decided to do some researching.. I was just curious about some and I wanted to find out if she had written them or if they were quotes, references, etc.
I stumbled across this website: http://disembodiedpoetics.com.
If you look through the poems on there dated between 2009-10, a LOT of it corresponds with Lana's 2010/2011 tweets (on her current acc). I'm just wondering if anyone could analyze this further.

One thing that jumped out to me was this:
I was just reading a ton of the poems and noting which ones Lana tweeted, when I saw a poem titled "you have to take me right now." Of course I thought of Yayo.
A few poems later and I see this one:
    http://disembodiedpoetics.com/418
This poem (which is well worth the read btw) includes the line: "You put on a show for me," which also reminded me of Yayo, especially considering the previous reference. I read through the whole poem and when I got to the bottom there's a comment that says "This one is my favorite." written by Liz, dated 5 years ago. Thoughts?

~also, if anyone wants me to link the tweets and their corresponding poems, I can.

I know she won't do it but I kinda want a bit of experimental chaos, like the Money Power Glory demo, GKIT demo, Cult Leader and FMWUTTT demo. That kind of genre-defying sound with good thoughtful lyrics like much of what was in Violet might be too much for this world to handle, but im ready for that
