"The 3 released singles are still on don't worry" -- BlackoutZone again.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same! Ultraviolence before Dan was a completely different album and maybe Mike inspired her too.

Why did she remove most of the originally planned songs? TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE MASTERPIECES SHE'S RECORDED WITH MIKE IN THE LAST COUPLES OF WEEKS

I'm fine with a title change but "she removed most of the originally planned songs" is deeply confusing.

I have to imagine she isn’t simultaneously releasing with vinyl if there is a chance she is changing things while still not delaying it. Maybe the thing Ed (or Ben) mentioned finally being able to do was a fully surprise release that involves a delayed physical release. Maybe the record label finally said she could release without absolutely having to have a vinyl for week 1 sales??

I love that our first nugget of info in weeks does nothing but confuse the situation even more. To be fair the confusion is the one thing you can truly rely on in this fandom, and when you make peace with that it becomes much less stressful to be a lana stan.

i bet shes changed the album title cuz she realized BB is not a good opening track and she wants the album to open w/ the title track again

but ill believe its not delayed when i see it

I'm glad I didn't say too much earlier, cause she removed most of the originally planned songs"

This is true...he's publicly praised Parker Milsap, Foster The People, Lana, Billie and many others...even Kate Bush back when she was starting out...Parker Milsap says John called him and told him how great a vocalist John thought he was. He has nothing to prove to anyone, nor do I think he's trying to 'stay relevant' or glom attention off younger musicians. Even if the great era of his career was relatively short, for 5-7 years he made some of the greatest and most diverse rock music ever. And he sang about homosexuality at a time when it wasn't cool to do so, even if in what today would be considered a politically incorrect manner.

As far as age differences between the listener and the artist, any person of any age can potentially appreciate any artist from any era. If that weren't true, how would younger people today appreciate Joni Mitchell's classic 70s era? Or John Coltrane? Or Ella Fitzgerald? Or even late 20s and 30s warblers like Annette Henshaw and Ruth Etting? Or the classic Rolling Stones, or Blondie, The Patti Smith Group, or Joy Division?

The inverse is also true. Lana sings about human emotions and human experiences. Why should Elton not be able to relate directly to a song like 'Summertime Sadness,' 'Ride,' 'Old Money' or 'Wildflower Wildfire'? He's not dead yet. And he has a lifetime of memories to reflect upon. And we know Springsteen and Joan Baez love Lana's music, and Stevie Nicks to some degree, and Courtney Love. Among, probably, many other prominent artists and musicians.

on that topic we all complained about her posting too many snippets and ruining the surprise during nfr and look at her now….we’ve gotten a single snippet ever since lmao we can say whatever we want but she DOES listen to us

I get that L+F was underwhelming but it’s really crazy to me that most of you seriously thought she’d lost what made her who she is... I mean come on, after 3 stellar albums there’s nothing wrong with a little misstep. I was disappointed with that album as well but I never doubted for a second that she’d just fallen off like that. I’m so happy for her that she’s proven herself with this album & shown that she’s still got it for all the fans who didn’t believe in her anymore.

Elton has made a habit of always buying the newest released albums and giving them all a critical listen - partly so he can stay abreast of what's current, but also because whenever he hears something unique and interesting, he literally calls the artist up himself on the telephone to compliment them on their music. He has nothing to prove musically anymore. He's been outrageous and controversial. He's done various genres and worked with a bunch of big names from the pop to rock and blues to musical theatre genres. He has nothing to gain from remaining on the pulse of the newest music, but he likes to give credit where credit's due and a phone call from one of the big names in music lends more than a hint of credence to an upcoming artist's music.

it’s a stupid ass decision (as always with apple) but at least it still works on the phone speakers (which kinda does make the whole lossless thing even more redundant as you say). we therefor come to the conclusion that dolby atmos is the only useful feature out of the 2 since it separates all the instruments and layers of a song. aka perfect for lanzi’s (used to be ) layer rich songs. so i’m asking again: WHO DO WE NEED TO HARASS TO HAVE LANA’S ALBUMS IN DOLBY??
