I can’t wait for Friday to hear if this album will mirror where I am at the moment in my life, the way UV, HM, LFL and NFR did. Although, in retrospect, COCC and BB kinda were where I was with the whole pandemic, but I was pretty much in denial and wanted some bops to escape from that hell. 
but so far, I do love the concept of being more open and more raw that is brought on Ocean Blvd

That part of the Gigwise review that said some reviewers missed out entire tracks while going to the bathroom tells me everything we need to know about the integrity of music criticism. This isn’t an album that is easily digestible or catered to today’s frantic attention spans. It asks for time and open mindedness - which makes it the more rewarding the more time you spend with it.
 
It’s also kind of boring to see so many users still acting like music is divided in either beat-driven bangers or boring piano ballads and nothing else in between. A track like Grandfather is nothing alike Sweet or Paris Texas (for instance), they represent different things, go for different sonic soundscapes and even have Lana delivering different vocal performances. It can be a different frustrating to see people reducing this album to this or that when chances are it’s far richer than whatever box you’re trying to put it in. Give it time to sink in and wash over you. There’s an entire universe in this record and it’s a fascinating one, whether it entirely works for you or not.

Oh and also: NFR, HM and Ocean are my ultimate trinity. If HM is a prowess in music production and NFR is a prowess in lyricism, Ocean combines the best of the two and represents Lana entering a new cycle of her career. No point anymore in comparing her to Fiona Apple, Kate Bush, Carole King, Joni Mitchell or Steve Nicks: she’s forging a path of her own. What a beast of an artist.

The second Kintsugi mentioned the scrapped screamer, I immediately knew we would have to endure endless comments of people suggesting the screamer to replace their least favorite track 
 
Remember when Dealer almost was a Chemtrails track even though it wouldn’t make sense at all and stick out like a sore thumb in what is, like it or not, a very cohesive record? Trust the process and trust her vision, y’all don’t even know what the track (or Candy Necklace) sounds like.

Kintsugi and Fingertips will be studied for decades to come.

It’s gunna have to be Cherry blossom for me 

Lana’s album stands right in between the more digestible ones (Kali, Caroline, Kelela) and the more avant-garde (Yves Tumor) and that might hurt her.
 
However, the fact that Pitchfork loved the singles and included them in their playlist does say something.

There's a...very interesting pattern here, but I don't want to get my hopes up. Anyway, the fact that A&W was named BNT while all three (!) singles made the Pitchfork Selects playlist is an encouraging and promising sign. I think that the album will get a 8.0+ score. Hopefully it'll be named BNM as well.
