I don't think they have worked together before but she was on the Chemtrails photoshoot... so they definitely know each other.
Love her but I hope he's just showing support and it's for Lana cause I'm thirsty

for free’s actually super coherent with the whole album, too bad it’s a feature and the production is not giving 

Vinyl delays make the timeline of her albums confusing. We had 2 albums in 2021 but Chemtrails was supposed to come out in the fall of 2020 and BB is not even a year old but it was finished in June/July so she's been working on LDR9/X for at least a year now (or even more considering she always starts her albums before finishing the current one).
 
She also wrote and teased BBS a whole year before even releasing Chemtrails so we'll never know with Lana . It was probably just a rough concept but it shows how she's always writing even if it's not meant for the next thing. Our prolific queen

it's been a while since bb, or at least feels like it, but i'm looking forward to that feeling where we get to listen to what the album's talking about. bring on the conversational

I'd be instantly tuned in for the rest of the album with excitement because she never misses when it comes to album openers. I remember the very first time listening to NFR and the way it beautifully ended with "you make me blue", I was drenched in tears. Don't get me wrong, WD & TB are some of her best written songs. But they took so long to grow on me and I still don't like them as opening tracks. I hope she starts off the album with a stronger track even if it's a simple stripped down song. I just need the drama. 

i hate for free as a closure. BUT i agree so much with you. It's a pretty and subtle detail that  in cocc she starts singing in 'White Dress' how she felt when she was pursuing fame in her early days. And closes in for free singing about being famous and now looking someone else starting a career and doing it for free while she plays for fortunes now.

I hope something is posted this week to hype us again… 

There's also some wave/ocean references in the DNC logo, the Neil picture and the emoji he used 🌊(assuming it's Lana related) so maybe it's a mix of both? 
Neil's style (when doing landscapes and not portraits) is very otherworldly so it would match very well the space aesthetics.
Maybe she's doing something similar to LFL but instead of going the futuristic route she's incorporating natural elements to the cosmic theme 
 
By the way I just realized he liked (and unliked) another comment asking if it was about DNC so...  
It would be unlikely that his finger slipped two times exactly on those two Lana related comments

yall can hate on jack/piano/whatever but at the end of the day, what we’re going to end up getting, is what Lana wants to release 

omg you guys are acting like jack is the spawn of satan. he’s a really great producer, and I don’t blame lana for working with him again. The music industry is a very disturbing place, especially for women. Some producers can seem totally respectful, but in reality, they’re creeps. If she wants to keep working with him, good. 
 
this is my personal opinion but tbh, I’m glad lana is using more piano, pedal steel guitar, and more instruments that aren’t made using a computer. I loved born to die, but her albums that aren’t so pop-ish like blue banisters, chemtrails, and uv had a larger impact on me than btd.

I really hope the song is coming early September
