anyways im glad we're getting new stuff from her here and there. i hope next year brings the same, doubtful, but a gay can hope. like she's literally working her ass off, deciding she finally wants to give us unreleased stuff on vinyl and it's crazy that people don't even see it as that. they probably don't even know and that's okay too, but it doesn't make it less special for those of us who know and care about the music and the artist. idk it's so weird 

Whenever I read or hear a negative review, I have the impression that the person hasn't listened to the album properly or is just judging on false prejudices. Especially when nonsense sentences come up like "everything sounds the same", "the album is too long" or "she is so hyperactive, one album a year is enough". If they have no time and desire to spend time with the music in depth, they should rather not give a review at all.

today was the first time in about two weeks that i didn't listen to the album at all and it feels weird. Idk, I guess I'm trying to keep it from getting old now. I've been using it for shower music which has been nice, especially the middle tracks leading into Dealer. i still love IYLDWM and BBS. fuck

Still claiming the title track today (it's hit even harder for me with the full album for some reason??), but Violets For Roses is also doing things to me lately.

If I had to claim one song today, it would be Thunder. Yesterday we had a huge storm that knocked out power to half the city (luckily ours was only out for about eight hours), and singing that song was the only thing that got me through the anxiety.

and who is the "good", the "bad" and the "ugly"? Interesting, because the number 3 plays an important role in this album. Three women in the blue banisters video, three humans/pets on front and back cover, three singles dropped at the beginning ...

I'd argue this is like... in her top 5 emotional moments of her discography. It's painfully bittersweet.

How can this album get even better witch each listen

The outro to Lie Down With Me lives in my head absolutely rent free. I don’t think it has been out of my head since the first time I heard it. 
 
Violets for Roses is such a bittersweet song and I absolutely love it, definitely my number 1 off the album 

I’m not even mad beautiful is only piano and stringless, the piano is absolutely beautiful and I think the strings kind of wash it out. 
 
BBS being grenadine quarantine and if this is the end… is super iconic and I’m so glad we got them, I’ve wanted them since she teased them last May!
 
A super unpopular opinion but I never really loved or understood the hype for Thunder but it’s another one of my favorite songs, the strings are so haunting. 
 
I really wish she would have reworked NOTG, LL, and CB. Even a string or horn added to each would have been nice. It’s so weird how the first half of the album (minus beautiful and BB) is so full and richly produced and then after thunder it gets a little flat. (And I say this as a #1 NOTG fan). It also drives me insane that LL and CB start on the same chord and they both start with piano. I get them confused every time! (Lie down with me also starts very similarly to them but it’s far enough away I don’t really notice)
 
Overall a very very solid Lana album.  

Blue Banisters escalated so easily in her discography until becoming my favourite  
I honestly thought it wouldn't just because we've had some of these songs from years ago but hell I was wrong!  

Omg I gave my mom the cd and we just listened to the whole thing, she was blown away
