    I mean you’re still not gonna hear the tracks so what good are the titles gonna do..

    So Lana Del Rey said in W Magazine " that it's like she's typing in her mind" and what if the tunnel under ocean boulevard is representative of her mind & what's going on in there. The tunnel is kinda hidden from the outside world,  from the public eye,  it's secretive kinda like her mind if you know what I mean and we get on the album an insight to her mind and that's  why " Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard " is the title track because it kinda represents the concept of the album. I hope this makes sense,  it's almost midnight here and I'm a bit sleepy

    okay but did you know that there’s an ocean boulevard over the tunnel…

    I like it! Idk if this has been said but it looks like a modern rendition of her original Lana Del Rey logo/font.

    okay guys i'm brainstorming... imagine a mv in the tunnel, she can be like slowly walking thru it as she sings or whatever and its crowded af with people walking all around her in the opposite direction, and as the video goes on the style of the people subtly changes thru different decades to show the passage of time, kind of continuing the theme from chemtrails mv.. OR completely different maybe the tunnel is part of some old glitzy cult bunker for the ultra rich that's been long abandoned so now lana and her besties do like rituals down there

    Girlies, I’m so sorry to vent over here but even my Lana-fan friends are tired of me talking about her 😭

    I just realized this will probably be well received by critics as opposed to the most “tepid” (but still very good!!) posy-NFR reactions; I feel like to a lot of the GP it’ll feel like the album that followed NFR while Chemtrails and BB felt like stan-entries, a little more “hidden” gifts for us who follow her career religiously. Does this make sense or am I too stoned?

    NFR truly changed the perception of her artistry and songwriting or at the very least marked a collective confirmation of her prowess and singularity. I don’t think she’ll ever be panned again like she was in the aughts of her career and if she’s coming with an album that brings a different concept and sonority to the table, with a more soaring and less toned down approach, then it’s gonna make people move and listen to it with a different perspective, free of Questions For The Cultures and/or the excessive NFR hype.

    What a moment we’re about to witness.

    My brain can't add up everything we know in terms of the visuals..cause like first was the jacket, NFR vibes;
    We had a thought of Lana going for some psychedelic techno slay music or some dark witchy style
    then the W Magazine Photoshoot and it was dark Hollywood 20's glamour waist deep in icy waves;
    then it was Rockefeller that gave me BB vibes,very hopeful and sad,some lilac vibes;
    Then the photo from Neil came in and his roses 🌹🌹 emojis–I have no idea what they mean and what vibe give off;
    After that was the yellow font and it gave me 60's/70's vibes with it's music and visuals of some sunny beach + maybe some surf rock ballad (lol idk how to describe this);
    Now we know the title and it actually gives me cocc somehow idk i need to get used to it but i really like it! It just feels mysterious and magical..but in a light way
    I am really curious about the aesthetics of this album and I can't wait to see everything! I just know whatever Lana will do she'll nail it and will leave us in shook

    Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Boulevard
    Where sirens sing and swim all day and sailors come from far
    Mosaic ceilings and painted tiles
    Line the walls for miles and miles…

    These are peak "tunnel under ocean boulevard" vibes

    I feel like the title itself leaves so much room for aesthetic design and interpretation. I'm really looking forward to the visual aspect of this album just as much as I'm looking forward to the music itself

    So how do Neil’s “🌹🌹” and this yellow font aesthetic tie into the album title?

    ok so let me rephrase then - there’s no similar *influences*

    lana’s more influenced by the american dream and folk artists while ethel is more influenced by shoegaze artists and religious experiences/trauma

    if you feel that they sound similar then alright but i don’t think it’s fair to call it a compliment (even if you mean well) when the recipient is mildly offended by it

    as much as i champion lizzy grant, she sounds absolutely nothing like her. not even their influences are the same

    it’s not a diss towards lana at all, it’s just an incorrect comparison many people are making for some reason

    i mean 76 minutes is enough to fill up a cd so it’s definitely not short but it’s also incredibly slow and it flies by quick so acting like it’s sOoO lOnNgG is just kinda pathetic of them

    I haven't posted here but I have had this album on repeat since it has been out.

    It is just wow, a truly amazing debut/body of work.

    The story/subject matter is/can be kind of hard to swallow (no pun intended lol) knowing the protagonist's fate but it is just so evocative, compelling, and immersive. Art isn't always about the good, the light, the easy to swallow. Just to add to that sometimes with death comes pure freedom, release, escape from the things that shackle us here. Idk just stirs up a lot of feelings and emotions, so good!

    Just wanted to add to everyones already glowing consensus on this and just say wow and yes lol.

    I really haven't been this impacted/taken by an artist so immediately in a very long time, true talent here and excited to see what comes next.

    Also we all know Thoroughfare, Gibson Girl, Fam Treen and Hard Times are those bitches. The rest are amazing too though lol, even Western Nights.

    Ohhhh and that Pitchfork review is shit, teetotal shit.

    theory: so basically the era began with a video of ethel being stalked from her window so this is my current idea of the storyline so far. most of this theory is set up from the albums title which is preachers daughter & the teeth mag article (linked above)  . the story begins with an innocent girl who’s seen as a perfect example of purity within the town. a “gibson girl” so to speak. before the song gibson girl came out we had a fake article with the title preachers daughter gone wild. this idea of loss of innocence leading to demise which is a central storyline in the album i believe.
    if you read the text above it tells the story of a preachers daughter who got involved in prostitution a symbol of feminine innocence lost. if gibson girl comes near the middle yet towards the end of the track list and as you have theorized above then ethel is dead on strangers then preachers daughter is the story of this characters life from innocence to to innocence lost to torture to death. that’s my story and im sticking to it
