I gotta say that I know I should probably go and rediscover the last two records, or maybe listen to Honeymoon again... but I get these moments in which I just want to listen to a brand new album by Lana and lose my mind over her gorgeous vocals and the orchestra. I love to experience her new stuff, it's like finding out a new part of her and therefore a new meaning for her art 

It's out now.

This is unpopular but I don't really mind Ben's updates, we know not to take them too seriously but they also are nice reminders that an album really is coming, even if it's not our definition of soon 

Oh my gosh that video was a whole damn serve. So cute. I wasn’t sure if it would match the depressing tone of the song but she made it work!! I loved it. Can’t wait for album

I feel like Ben’s problem is he can’t talk about Lana without also talking about new music. If he’d just post about her achievements (W magazine, the Hollywood bowl concert, her billboard chart milestone) without adding “new music soon” to every single one, fans wouldn’t be so irritated

I posted this in the LDR9 pre-pre-release thread but it might have fit better here, Nikki Lane talked in an interview about their collab album and it sounds like it is indefinitely delayed, or at least not coming anytime soon.
 
Fans had to wait a long time for new music from Lane; they might have to get used to waiting. She co-wrote and sang on bluesy ballad “Breaking Up Slowly” from Del Rey’s 2021 album Chemtrails over the Country Club, but when I ask about a possible release date for the songs the pair penned on a road trip through Texas in a F-150 pick-up truck, she laughs. “There’s this thing synonymous with our job, where it feels like if you don’t do something in a timely fashion, [the interest] will go away. But what I’ve proved to myself by accident on this new album, is that it’s not going away. As long as I’m here, it’s gonna be here. And it’s cool to do something and for people to be kind of waiting for it.” 
 
Lane, Del Rey and Ferrell have performed together before, debuting a song called “The Prettiest Girl In Country Music” in January at a show in Austin, Texas; the song’s title was inspired by the words a creepy man once whispered into Lane’s ear. Can we expect an album from the three in the style of Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt’s 1987 country collaboration, Trio, anytime soon? “I think that’s the worst idea ever,” Lane hoots. “We would never play any shows. You’d never find a schedule that would work.” 
 
Instead, they’ll just keep on having an extremely good time on those rare occasions they do manage to get together. Maybe they’ll write some music, too. “We’ll go honky tonking together, or we’ll get a big house in Texas and live like a pile of idiots, swapping clothes and whatever – and there’ll be songs coming from that. But if you asked for a record, it’d almost f**k it up. I’d rather you hear nothing until 10 years from now you found out that we wrote a whole album!”

I think with Ellie it might be a bit different since she kinda became an industry slave 
She's not even allowed to release a single without a collaboration attached to it cause they desperately want her to get a hit so I'm sure she has a lot of label drama stopping and delaying her stuff 

I mean besides than the June comment the others kinda make sense... 
In May we got the interview about the album confirming it.
She finished the album between August and September 
And now she's ready to release the lead single since she sent the record to vinyl production already

When Ben says soon he really means that it’s like 7 months away. He said Ellie Goulding had new music coming out soon in January, and it didn’t come out until July.

By the way we still have no updates about the ldrvillage thing right? It's been a couple of weeks already but I think it was too soon of an announcement if it was related to BTD Paradise anniversary 
 
Do we usually get merch with the lead single? I know there's some LMLYLAW items but I can't remember if they came with the song or with the album... I don't usually pay attention to merch
