I don’t even know where to begin with how wrong you are. Every song that girls voice touches turns to gold.

ALSO: when Niykee Heaton was being held hostage at Capitol - she learned how to produce her own stuff and started her own website where she'd constantly upload new rough demos for her fans for free. Her constant output led to her building an online following. Then she self-funded her own tour and someone from Capitol ended up going to one of her shows and being impressed with the following she'd created, so they finally gave her a small window to be able to release a full project.
From what someone said in this thread before - it sounds like a similar thing happened with Sky - she was held hostage until someone at the label realized they could directly capitalize on her momentum, (of course, no thanks to them), and gave her a small window to put a project together for release. It's a shitty way to run a label, but it's not just happening to Sky. I wonder if she had their permission to post her Voices Carry cover on soundcloud, because that ended up creating a lot of buzz. If she continued doing stuff like that idk why the label wouldn't want to capitalize off of it. Idk why that was the last we heard from her since.

Just wanted to say because I've been seeing some chatter about it, there are no plans for this thread to be locked. Even if Sky doesn't release soon, the thread will still remain open. The only time a thread is really locked is if it is requested by the creator, the artist themselves, or if the thread gets really out of hand. So, don't fret Little Ferraris, at least the dicussion thread will be here to stay x

Hopefully Sky will be drop dead gorgeous in that upcoming Netflix movie, so tiktok girls without a job will do a lot of edits and fancams about her and *BOOOM* she is the new 2020's beauty icon just like she was in the past decade

So this isn’t directly to do with sky but I feel like it sheds light on a similar artist on her label with a slightly smaller audience. Basically two days ago DeathByRomy who’s another artist who is signed to capital came out and spoke about the treatment of artists by their label.
She states they dropped her while holding her under contract and are not letting her release songs she paid for herself. I don’t think the exact same thing has happened to sky as they’re not really trying to mold her a certain way anymore but I definitely think it sheds light on the experience of an artist working with Capitol, Why Sky hasn’t done a proper release in so long because a lot of what Romy said is similar to comments Sky made on the “not really” podcast episode about Britney.

Are we really doing this right now?
if people want to discuss her farts then let them.
Just dont come in the thread, problem solved.
But some of us are new fans too, and there's so much that we/I don't know about... Also, sometimes I want to stan, shitpost or go in depth about her without a character limit.

Couldn’t agree more with this. I’ll feel so awful for her if say the label confirmed a date and mislead her and then took it away / shelved it again to fuck with her. I do just hope if it happens again this time she’ll speak up and let us know the exact reasons. She’s always said she can’t really be vocal about what’s happened but will one day tell all but I think for her and her fans sake, enough is enough. Maybe the consequences would be harsh? Corrupt Hollywood and their NDAs.
I think Sky doesn’t realise the massive support system she has in her fans. I for one would happily contribute to a fundraiser to help her release the album on her own terms or something along those lines.

Well let's just discuss her as if she's a retired artist then
I remember Sky Ferreira! Hope she's doing well these days

Not just her mom, the first one who teased a March release was her with the whole "comes like a lion, goes like a lamb" thing.
And then Tonia "confirmed" not once but twice that something will be released on March.
So yeah, we are relying on two family members that something might haopen
If something gets released, cool.
But if it doesn't, then Sky is not prepared for the meltdown. She will be proven, again, that she's a liar and a flop.

100% she needs to take responsibility for misleading her fans AGAIN if this appears to be false. She knew what she was doing, that quote alludes to March and the fact her mom (wrongly) said the album is coming in March to me shows something's definitely supposed to happen whether it be a single or announcement.
Social media break from doing what she's not even active!

How can you scrap something that you have been working on for 9 years?
