ETA: also she's just really, really wrong. Even if the Country Roads cover was the worst cover that ever covered, it doesn't negate the artist's entire body of work. She of all people should realise this.
ETA2: also saying Taylor "isn't important" is actual brain rot. Even if you despise her and her music, she absolutely IS important, she literally contributes to a country's actual economy when she tours. Important =/= having to like her music or like her.

Porctia is so gorgeous, her body tea and her voice is insane! I drove past her walking to the venue when I went to a show I wish i had gotten out and asked for a picture or at least said hi. 

This makes me so angry oh my god… it’s not like they’re posting only winners they literally wrote “Grammys winners and nominees”, they genuinely have no respect for her I hope she never shows up there again 

That photo was fake it wasn't hers lol, but yea she does vape A LOT. I mentioned she didn't even have a vape in her waistband or mic stand like usual at outdoor fests and another user pointed out it’s been months since we’ve seen her with one period. Hopefully she’s quit! Or at least she’s smoking/vaping less now. Cause if she wants to perform into her senior years like Joan Baez (which she’s said before) vaping won’t be good for that.

She always had that idgaf attitude while singing, she's just vibing yk. Lollapalooza Chile 2018 performance of Off To The Races is a perfect example of her current stage presence, she's very charismatic and comfortable but she doesn't have the need to sing every song from word to word when she can also vibe and dance to it and heat the public up.

After staying up to watch the set last night, I went to bed and had an interesting dream I met Lana and Taylor at a Coachella after party. I knew I had to talk to Lana first and after introducing myself asked if I could talk to her about a few things and she was like “of course!”
 
I remember asking her what DNC stood for from that acronym looooong ago and she started to explain and someone fell in the pool at that same moment and so everyone was looking over at that craziness and we never went back to that conversation. In my dream I remember thinking “Lanaboards is gonna die, the fact we’ve never gotten an answer on that and now THIS happens” 
 
so then I asked her if she’d ever consider the unreleased album again and her response was that she’s seen discourse online that some people want it, some don’t, and until we all collectively want the unreleased music, she won’t do it. Then I went and talked with Taylor for a min but I woke up after that and it’s kinda fuzzy. 

I was like, “who TF isn’t wanting this unreleased album? I just wanna talk…”  Her answer did NOT make any sense at all. But the dream was still fun!
 
I hope I have another one next week when I stay up for Lanachella weekend 2, let me know of any questions I should ask her in the dream if it happens again LOL

I’m sorry but I’m not blaming FJM for her not singing LTLI. Even if he couldn’t make it for whatever reason, there’s no reason they couldn’t have just played his back track he only does background vocals and has not a single solo line

Here’s the thing, as much as some of us sometimes want her to be more mainstream or feel that she is more mainstream than she gets credit for - at the end of the day, she’s herself. She’ll do and sing whatever the F she wants. 
 
People respect that. It’s as if she’s gaining mainstream popularity, precisely for the fact that she’s not mainstream. She doesn’t follow the “norms” and expectations. She can write a record like Ocean Boulevard, fill it with the dreamy, laidback vocals of The Grants and Paris, Texas, but still hit you with an A&W or Peppers when you least expect it. 
 
From what I’ve seen over the past year or so, and arguably the past few years if you include Chemtrails and Banisters, she’s in a different era. She’s not going to give anyone a Coachella-esque setlist, not even Coachella. 
 
She’s not going to be forever young and the pacing has slowed down. The h@ting on the setlists is growing old. The board seemed to almost unanimously loathe her setlist from last year. She adds 3-4 new songs and it’s still “bad.” Yet we all keep coming back and the critical reviews from her performance last night seem to be almost universally positive. 
 
It is possible for two things to be true at the same time. We can accept that the playlist is slower paced, her vocals are more subdued, the performance may drag in comparison to other popular artists. But, speaking of art, it is also true that her elegance and beauty are as strong as ever. 
 
The problem with celebrities is everyone has an idealized, sometimes unrealistic expectation. We can try to mold a perfect Lana performance in our head, but at the end of the day, she’s going to do whatever tf she wants. 
 
Is her setlist decision based on comfort? Familiarity? The new era she’s in? It’s irrelevant to me. I’m just thankful that she’s out here giving us art on a regular basis. 2024 has certainly been an active year for her. Things are going to continue to get crazy, for a long, long time. Even if it’s not always in the exact way that some of her fans want. 
 
I’d argue that part of her charm is that she does what she wants. Not what others want her to do or what others think she should be doing. 

I like that everyone across social media is blaming her vocals on the mic issues. While I do think the issue was not only with the sound, but also that she was out of tune and not fully there vocally, her having problems in her earpiece probably fucked with her head and messed her performance. Hopefully next week these issues are gone and she is able to relax and not worry so much about the sound.
