Edit to add: maybe the Dark City snippets are from phone recordings mentioned above. This is assuming any of this is true. We've been getting a lot of information the last few days. Things are percolating before SOTB release next week!

Probably a big reason her team doesn’t push her to promote is because they know delulu’s like us will build the hype for her free of charge

The photo Lana and Chuck posted of Alana Champion. We know Chuck takes photos for Lana’s albums and Alana has been on photos to Lana’s album. I know I’m probably just delusional and overly hopeful, but what if it’s for LDR9? Maybe she just thought it was a pretty photo of a close friend, or maybe not? I would love that vibe. Almost like Ultraviolence but more angry and haunting.

I’m thinking angry in a Tired of singing the blues and noir… or at least I hope because I need that

Fans had to wait a long time for new music from Lane; they might have to get used to waiting. She co-wrote and sang on bluesy ballad “Breaking Up Slowly” from Del Rey’s 2021 album Chemtrails over the Country Club, but when I ask about a possible release date for the songs the pair penned on a road trip through Texas in a F-150 pick-up truck, she laughs. “There’s this thing synonymous with our job, where it feels like if you don’t do something in a timely fashion, [the interest] will go away. But what I’ve proved to myself by accident on this new album, is that it’s not going away. As long as I’m here, it’s gonna be here. And it’s cool to do something and for people to be kind of waiting for it.” 
 
Lane, Del Rey and Ferrell have performed together before, debuting a song called “The Prettiest Girl In Country Music” in January at a show in Austin, Texas; the song’s title was inspired by the words a creepy man once whispered into Lane’s ear. Can we expect an album from the three in the style of Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt’s 1987 country collaboration, Trio, anytime soon? “I think that’s the worst idea ever,” Lane hoots. “We would never play any shows. You’d never find a schedule that would work.” 
 
Instead, they’ll just keep on having an extremely good time on those rare occasions they do manage to get together. Maybe they’ll write some music, too. “We’ll go honky tonking together, or we’ll get a big house in Texas and live like a pile of idiots, swapping clothes and whatever – and there’ll be songs coming from that. But if you asked for a record, it’d almost f**k it up. I’d rather you hear nothing until 10 years from now you found out that we wrote a whole album!” 

Saw this shared on ATRL, Nikki Lane basically said no Lana collab album coming anytime soon.

OHHH right i remember her saying that she's writing less and less about color in these new songs. that will be interesting because a lot of her lyrics reference blue

I hope it's existential anger (like Tired Of Singing The Blues) cause I think we've had enough songs angry at the media 
But if I were her I'd also curse them at any given chance considering how annoying they've always been so I don't blame her 
 
I think she kinda found closure with BB with the really personal songs, the outtakes she always wanted to put out and the remarks about the media and criticism sprinkled throughout the album... so I think we're getting something new thematically. 
Also the fact that she didn't have an album title ready from the get go makes me think it's going to be unrelated to BB and not a continuation of the same topics.
 
Sonically I don't think it's going to be that different but who knows, she's always been really unpredictable anyway 

We always interpret what she says in interviews to the letter because this is the only amount of information we have on the record BUT we need to remember that she’s always saying anything at that point, I wouldn’t really trust her on that "angry" take, she always changes her mind, and her descriptions aren’t that accurate tbh. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t pre-BB btw
