the thing about 'wordiness' that gets me is she also says she isn't using colors and is just singing what comes to mind. So many of her songs have been super descriptive, and quite frankly she's doing the opposite of what I've been wanting her to do. Instead of going back to a creative writing style she's doubling down on her more recent writing style. I'm trying hard to not be negative, and I'm going to wait until we get a taste of the new music, but I am a little nervous

But come to think of it: Ever since 2020, post-NFR release, Lana seems to merged herself into a new lifestyle. Yes she used to cover a lot of magazines in-between her era many times back then, we can see now she is not doing that anymore (she didnt even do a proper photoshoot for The Rolling Stone Mag & Vanity Fair, she used a screenshot from her video clips lol to send them as magazine covers). So for her to even leave her house, leave California, leave her country lifestyle/ Nikki Lane mania to catch a flight to New York, put luxury designers on her body again, get glam, attend Gucci fashion show/party. So a bitch can dream

I'm not going to lie, Lana being on a magazine cover doesn't make me hype that new music is coming soon.
 
After NFR she was on a magazine cover in October where she first talked about Let Me Love You Like a Woman and the song didn't come out for a whole year, and she did a lot of magazines in early 2019 and NFR didn't come until August.
 
She's been known to cover magazines without music being close close. W is a fashion magazine and they don't regularly have 'music editions' so I think that's why she was on the cover this month. That said, I do think the album will probably be out this year, but I'm not going to take W magazine as an indication that it's closer than we think. Until she or her team or some reliable insiders start teasing the project I'm going to consider it far far away.

I wonder if this automatic writing thing will also affect the song titles and we are getting really long and weird ones 

I would be perfectly happy to get no insider information and have it all be a surprise.

Say what you want about Jack Antonoff but he helped NFR go from a collection of songs to a full blown sonic universe. It’s incredibly cohesive even when certain songs like Doin Time come to play. The atmosphere of that album is lush, rich and incredibly nostalgic while complimenting the lyricism (which is otherworldly). That’s why it’s one of the greatest albums ever made.
 
COCC is far more modest and restrained but it’s yet again incredibly cohesive and puts you in a very specific, hypnotic mood as if you were contemplating your own reflection in a bonfire.
 
I’d hate to underestimate the magic Lana and Jack can create.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm personally fine with having an era where we don't really have insiders  

I don't think the Drew part meant that she gives him the voice memos and the rest is on him to complete the song. I guess it's more along the lines of trying to create a rough demo quickly to see how things would sound and then "perfect" it a bit cause we saw them together in the studio figuring out the orchestral parts.
I think it will be similar to BBS. I'm expecting some crazy Noir level vocals if the takes are indeed not changed at all, which exites me a lot cause angry unhinged Lana is so interesting (and funny, the MAIL ME WHEN YOU GET THE BLUES still gets me every time )

I don't think the Bandcamp is legit! The earliest archive of it on the Wayback Machine is 2013, and that redirects you to a page to claim the 'lizzygrant' domain name, meaning it hadn't been opened yet. And I don't think anyone officially affiliated with Lana would've opened a Lizzy account post-2013 lmao

This is a timeline I cooked up several years ago, covering the period from the beginning of LDR's professional career (currently Nov. '03, ostensibly her first professional modeling shots), to the official release of AKA, cementing the Lana Del Ray moniker and ending the Lizzy Grant era proper. It's supposed to be as comprehensive as possible, even including tweets/social media posts/etc., but it's been quite a bit since I really combed through the info and checked to see what I'm missing. Currently, events with specific dates have been prioritized, but I'd love some thoughts on whether this should also include more approximate/unknown dates and events. @lizzyology @honeybadger @Surf Noir -- tagging some Lizzy experts off the top of my head  please feel free to look through and contribute if you see anything missing/incorrect/etc.! This is a pretty old project, so I'm very open to any help and constructive criticism you've got 
 

My main problem is that the newer fans seem to take her lyrics too seriously to a damaging point (in my opinion) because they're shaping other newer fans' "knowledge" of Lana lore. For instance, I saw a post on Reddit the other day that was "dissecting" Carmen and said Lana was a prostitute like it was a fact. I think the post got deleted thank god. There is no evidence of that. Sex work is not something that is shameful but I still think it's wrong to be saying that about people when all there is to go off of is lyrics of a song.

well, if that’s your take on it, i guess, but i feel like glamorizing pedophilia is entirely different from glamorizing depression, y’know? if somebody wants to see their depression as something beautiful and artistic, i actually can relate to that, so i can’t even sit around and act like it’s problematic, some people need to do that to be able to cope with it and get through their days, i just feel like it’s entirely different when it comes to pedophilia, and this all feels a bit ironic because we’re all lana fans and i do personally believe she had a romanticized view of that book, or, at least, had the wrong idea about it/only followed along with the sensationalized version of the story and it’s aesthetics, but i don’t really hold it against her because it was a long time ago
