Hey NYC Lana fans! I hope this is the right place to post this. As you see, I've been on LanaBoards since it's inception, and I'm popping in here to say that I'm going to be DJing a night of all Lana Del Rey next week! I would absolutely love any of you who are in the area to stop by!
When I say this night is going to be for the SUPER FANS, I mean it! Get ready for all the eras, all the mixes, all the leaks, and more! My current playlist ranges from Brite Lights to Kinda Outta Luck, and hope is a dangerous thing to Cult Leader! I want the people that know the deepest of deep cuts to be able to enjoy a night dedicated to our one and only, Queen Lana.

More info on this Instagram post! And be sure to reach out with any questions
(If you happen to come and you tell me you're from LanaBoards, I'll hook you up with a free drink ticket!)

  4. notthatdreamy liked a post in a topic by Elle in A note about the recent drama
    Hi all,
I wanted to check in with you all about the recent rise in drama that the mod team and I have noticed over the past couple of weeks. It appears that drama on the site among members is at a peak, so I wanted to pop in and remind you all that LanaBoards won't tolerate certain types of behaviour.
It seems that the drama is especially high in other artists' threads and in world news threads, especially when it comes to hot-topic debates. While LanaBoards welcomes opinions and discussions of different viewpoints, it is important that these opinions are shared and discussed in a respectful manner. As stated in our rules, LanaBoards will not tolerate any posts that are meant to be purposely inflammatory (flaimbaiting to intentionally start an argument) rude, hateful, insulting, or otherwise crossing a line, and members violating this rule will be warned and given restrictions at our discretion. This is something the moderator team is going to be taking very seriously as it is our mission to have LanaBoards be a safe and welcoming space for all.
Something we've especially been noticing a rise in is personal attacks towards other members and people including other artists, which is something we won't tolerate. Let this serve as a reminder that behind the usernames and profile pictures, we are all real people with real feelings. There's no need to make things personal. Please be mindful and respectful of this when communicating with other members. Again, we do welcome varying opinions and healthy, constructive debates, but please keep these respectful. Think before you press reply.
Something else to keep in mind is that not all intense debates need to be made public, especially if they're veering off-topic of the thread. We encourage users to make use of our personal messaging system to have private discussions, but again, please keep these respectful.
We understand that news is slow at the moment on the Lana front so tensions are a little high, but please don't let this translate into disrespect towards others.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns - you all should feel comfortable to reach out to me or another staff member at any time about anything. We are here to help and keep this place safe and enjoyable at the end of the day.
I hope to see things become more peaceful. I'm sending you all lots of love and I hope you all enjoy your weekend x
Let's work it out on the remix~

red is the color of your mouth when you drink rum punch, you like to lie, in yellow sun.

they judge me like a picture book, by the colors like they forgot to read
you never liked the way I said it, if you don't get it then forget it, cus I don't have to fuckin explain it

it's like heaven, taking the place of something evil, and lettin it burn off from the rush /
can i get a fuckin hallelujah?

Life on Mars ain't just a song

and there's no remedy for memory

Gargoyles standing at the front of your gate, trying to tell me to wait, but I can't wait to see you.
Grenadine sunshine, can you break, this heart of mine?
walk in the way of my soft resurrection, Idol of roses, iconic soul, I know your name-
Lead me to war with your brilliant direction

hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but I have it.
as well as the rest of the song

baby what's your sign? my moon's in Leo, my Cancer is sun/
it's beautiful, how this deep, normality settles down over me. i'm not bored or unhappy, i'm still so strange and wild!
you're in the wind I'm in the water, nobody's son, nobody's daughter

suburbia, the Brentwood market, what to do next? maybe we'll love it.

washing my hair, doin the laundry late nite tv, i want you only, like when we were kids under chemtrails in country clubs
(it's never too late, so baby, don't give up)

You're born in December and I'm born in June

I was looking for the father I wanted back, and I thought I found it in Brentwood, it seemed only appropriate you'd easily have my back.
could we do this dance again?
do you think if i go blonde we could get our old love back?
i guess this is really the end, I never felt jealous before this year, but I'm jealous now.

-the chorus, the writing on Textbook's just impeccable.

Lana's "ok" in AW. it resonates a lot when u realize she's been projected onto for so much about how she's supposed to be, etc. it holds a lot

It's kind of crazy to me how her beef with Lana really backfired on her. Wishing her the best though, I don't have much hope for her poetry but she's still such a talented artist if she just gave up on the weird performative activism.

I wouldn't dare trying to discuss old demos and unreleased tracks, Lana always seem to get in a bad mood whenever someone does or when she finds out people have been listening to them.

This reminds me there was a coffee date with Lana raffle held by a radio station in Portland and the winner during the meet was like recording her and giggling and shit while Lana was telling them to stop recording  They posted the clips online too

You're so lucky though, I could only ever dream of something like this. Have a great time!

This is AMAZING!!! Oh babe, I’m so happy for you. This couldn’t have gone to a more deserving person in the whole state of Kansas - you’re truly the sweetest soul and I’m still so touched by your kindness when we met at her show in Kansas a few years back! What an incredible win that I’m sure will create memories that will last a lifetime. Have the best time ever!! Xx

100%. I never would want her to feel interrogated at all. Plus, there’s a chance Lasso may be out before this lunch as I still don’t know when it will be, mainly depends on our queens schedule.
I plan to just enjoy my conversation with her and see where it leads, and I have a good feeling that I will get a couple answers about things, in a casual way. In real life, I am a social butterfly so once I get past the nervousness I think we can have a wonderful and fun conversation back and forth. Right now I’m more concerned about how I will be able to lift a fork in her presence

10 of the tickets were mine too I was lucky to have some family help me out, I wouldn’t have been able to buy that many on my own…but obviously I’m so happy people wanted to raffle on the football tickets instead of this hehe  and the first order of business will be asking her what the heck DNC stood for!!! (Jk jk, but also, who knows we’ll see where the conversation leads)  thank you so much!!!! <3

    https://kansascitymag.com/win-lunch-with-lana-del-rey-via-kc-magazine-and-jazzoo/

Hadn’t seen anyone post about this yet… the Kansas City Zoo has a yearly fundraiser called Jazzoo, and they had a raffle. One of the prizes was lunch with Lana when she comes back to Kansas City.

Long story short, I bought my ticket to Jazzoo just for the raffle. I cannot believe I am typing this. But, I won.
It’s been a dream of mine since I was 13 years old. I feel like I’m floating and also dreaming and wondering when I am going to wake up??? I thought this was so random of her (but we love our “lol I’m so random🤪” queen) but I was told she has family ties here, either with someone at the zoo or KC Magazine. Either way, I’m stoked. I was literally crying screaming throwing up when I got the email (ok maybe not throwing up but yeah)

    Felt like this all day:

There were hundreds of people at Jazzoo, but only 15 raffle tickets were bought for Lana’s prize. Below is a picture of me during the event last Friday night manifesting my dream come true… and a wayyy better pic of me wearing the dress she wore to the 2019 Grammys party. ANYWAYS, if you need me I’ll be planning my funeral because I’m pretty much dead  Let’s hope I’m able to eat with her sitting in front of me lol

editing this to add I hope this doesn’t come off braggy or anything I just was so excited the first thing I thought was sharing the news with my Lanaboards family cause I love you all so much!!!!! ❤️🥰

For me, it's Wild at Heart no doubt

This track is Lana at her finest. It has all the brilliance of anything on NFR - yet it got zero attention. Not a single, no hype, super low streaming numbers, never performed live. I'll never understand why. The jack and coke extended lyric is particularly masterful.

American also comes to mind. A glorious, lush song that's quintessentially LDR, yet nobody ever talks about, it never gets played, and I don't think she's ever performed it live.

    What's your pick(s)?

    I’m late but…
    My timeline:
    May - nothing
    June - nothing
July - snippet of song 15 seconds no title
    August - nothing
    September - nothing
    Mid October - single release

December -  An interview for a magazine where she briefly mentions the album, how she’s excited for it but the interview is mostly awful and about irrelevant drivel.

January- Releases a budget Music video/live performance for first single in black and white has a known country singer playing guitar whilst she sings.

End of February - Preorder, cover and new song, Album release date for April 17th, the album title is different ‘Lasso my Heart’ or something like that.

March - merch revealed- cowgirl hats and embroidered denim Jackets which she sells for $320 plus postage. She also adds a few new T shirts with Lasso on in white on black in basic font which are incredibly bland.

April -Album release and another video, critics rate the album 74 with comparisons to Beyonce but stating Lana should have stuck with her Norman Rockwell sound and style, that it falls flat at times. Guardian gives the album 3 stars making irrelevant comments about other artists like Taylor and Billie.

May - Lana mentions another album she’s working on and is seen with Jack in the studio

I really like this interpretation. Not that she she necessarily has a clear vision of things to come for her next albums, but there is a sorta pattern so far, in her discography: she has two major landmarks, two albums that defined the American culture or read that said culture : Born to Die and Norman Fucking Rockwell. Norman was preceded by the «transition album », an album for her troubled times. Ocean Blvd is also a transition album, one that helped her grieve. See where I’m going with this? Lasso could be her third Best American Record.
