Also cohesive doesn’t equal amazing music. COCC is beautiful but it blends together and can feel uneventful

you can not like COTCC but it's hard to deny it's one of her most cohesive records

I agree. I never said it wasn’t cohesive. I literally repeated what Lana said in an interview
Exactly, COCC just feels like it is missing a little something. It isn’t bad or non-cohesive

Wait, why is everyone talking about Lana sampling her older songs?

COCC is her most cohesive album to date… and yet, in the Interview mag, you feel like she wanted the album to have more of a « second part », one where things would shake up a bit (with Dealer)… and it didn’t happen.
NfR is diverse enough and more enjoyable as a whole IMO.

I feel like this is going to be another NFR! situation. She said from early on she knew what she wanted that record to be like, I think it showed. It was so cohesive and beautiful. The interview from May very much reflects what we heard in the first single and what insiders have said. I think it when someone knows what they are going for, the music always turns out better. Like with Chemtrails, she said that she didn’t feel like she had gotten where she wanted to and I think it reflected in the final product (even though I love COCC).

in what world NFR is more cohesive than Chemtrails lol, COTCC might be her most cohesive sounding album ever.

Male singers seem to get less criticism I’ve noticed, the women are always ridiculed for something or pitted against each other.

Which begs the question why she and her team added all those names to the cover....was it just to make it look more like something from the 1960s?

Grandfather, Please Stand on the Shoulders of my Father While He's Deep Sea Fishing
I know this is fake, but it also makes so much sense and i'm tired of guessing this long acronym

the tracks that I’m most excited about at the moment are The Grants, because it’s a opener and they always mean a lot to me as a listener, and normally she slaps on all of her opening tracks. It really sets the mood for everything we are hearing next. And American Whore, because I really want to finally know her perspective about the perspective the others have on her and her carrear on a more direct way and I think that’s what this song is about.

I’m glad we got feed these last few days but now I’m ready to get back to the album. Someone said today that we should expect another single with a possible music video. I really hope we get a beautiful high budget music video for this era or at least a beautiful homemade one like the Honeymoon title track or the Ultraviolence music video

Thinking about how she described Blue Banisters as an album of "where we've been, where we are now, and where we're going"
I really think that the three singles, Black Bathing Suit, and Arcadia are the parts of the album that reflect where we're going with this new record
Where we've been:
Living Legend
Cherry Blossom
If You Lie Down With Me
Thunder
Nectar of the Gods
Where we are now (at that moment)
Beautiful
Dealer
Violets for Roses
Sweet Carolina
Interlude
Where we're going (deeper dives into her karmic lineage, much more abstract/obscure lyricism, very diaristic)
Text Book
Wildflower Wildfire
Black Bathing Suit
Arcadia
Blue Banisters
Thinking about it this way has me appreciating that record even more in excitement for this one
